Youth and Student Ministries Activities (All students in grades 6-12 are welcome.)

Kids Own Worship Every Sunday!

Kids Own Worship is a fun and interactive time of worship and Bible storytelling for kids ages 3 to fifth grade after children’s moments during the 11:00 service. A nursery for infants to 2 years old is staffed from 9:30am until 12:30pm.

Children can be picked up in the following rooms immediately after worship: 3 & 4 year olds (Room 102), 5 year olds-kindergarten (Room 103), first and second grades (Room 105), third grade (Community Room B), 4th grade (Room 104), fifth grade (Room 106). All these rooms are located adjacent to the gym.

Churchwide potluck for Andrew and Arpita Singh

Please help us celebrate Andrew and Arpita’s ministry at Georgetown First on Sunday, June 10 at noon in the fellowship hall/gym. Church members are encouraged to bring salads, vegetable side dishes and desserts. Fried chicken and drinks will be provided by the church. New summer study on the power of love

“Everybody, Always; Becoming Love in a World of Setbacks and Difficult People” by Bob Goff. Same course, two times: Wednesdays at 10:30am or 6:30pm starting June 13 through July 25 (except on July 4). The best-selling author shares simple and practical steps to love everybody, always, the way Jesus did—including the ‘creepy people’ who are difficult to love. Study guide is $9 each. Growth Groups and Wednesday night meals on hiatus

There will be no Growth Groups or Wednesday night meals until after Labor Day on September 5. Chancel Choir continues to meet at 7:30pm.

Happy 90th Birthday, Moe Drumheller!

Stop by the Drumhellers’ home TOMORROW, June 4 from 2pm to 8pm to have a piece of birthday cake and celebrate with Moe. The Drumhellers live at 105 N. Colonial Heights Drive in Georgetown.

United Methodist Women to meet THIS Tuesday

The June meeting of the UMW will be at the home of Carolyn Bergenhagen (145 Ferguson Lane) at 11:00am, for a pot luck luncheon, so please bring a dish to share. Meat and drinks will be provided. The meeting is open to all women in the church, please join us and bring a friend. Please call or text 502-370-7067 to let us know you are coming or with questions.

Safe Sanctuaries training on June 6

Our next safe sanctuaries training class will be on Wednesday, June 6 at 6:00pm in Rm 105. This training is necessary for anyone wanting to help with our children and youth. If you have any questions please contact Tricia Blair at 859-533-0551 or by email at [email protected].

Please join us on Saturday, June 9 at 9:00am in the fellowship hall/gym. Invite your male friends and family members. You don’t have to be a church member to attend. Vacation Bible School set for July 9-12

VBS will be Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12 from 6-8:30 pm. Mark your calendars and invite your friends! All workers with children and youth must attend Safe Sanctuaries training.

70th wedding anniversary reception set for July 1

The family of Nelson and Dorothy Mullikin invite you to a reception held in celebration of 70 years of marriage on Sunday, July 1 at 12:30pm in the Gathering Space. Cake and punch will be served. Your presence will be your gift. The Mullikins are the parents of Patricia Snow. The family faithfully attends the 8:30 service.

Fourth of July parade on Wednesday, July 4

Georgetown First will participate in the parade again this year. We’re encouraging everyone to meet at 10:00am on Military Street near Georgetown College on Wednesday, July 4. Pre-orders for special red, white and blue t-shirts for our church will be received June 10-18. Thanks to Brian Thorn, these will be available to the church “at cost.”

Communion offering going to Conference Mission Night

This month’s communion offering will support Mission Night at Annual Conference. All proceeds will support ten United Methodist campus ministries at Kentucky universities and colleges as well as Africa University. Leave your gift at the railing, place in the collection plate or give online.
