GEAR User Interface and Mapping The Churchill Quantum is tightly integrated with our next generation ARS mapping software, GEAR. GEAR reduces control of the gimbal and mission mapping to a single application. And it enables the user to control the gimbal and the mission software from a single hand controller while also easily accepting user input from a touch screen monitor, mouse, and keyboard. The system was designed with mapping first in mind, to minimize synchronization errors between video and data, and optimize mapping overlay performance for an unequaled level of mission support.

Software The Quantum has been architected to be highly software defined and easily configurable. Advanced users can easily change encoder settings, parameters, modes, and protocols from a network connected browser to meet a broad range of system, application, and installation requirements. And Churchill Navigation will continue to provide software updates that improve and add functionality to the gimbal and mapping software so that it will get better and better over time.

Hand Controller The Quantum is designed to be controlled using the Xbox One wired/wireless controller. This controller provides a proven rugged and versatile solution for gimbal control inputs when interfaced through the Churchill Navigation GEAR software. Operators can choose either wired or wireless hand controller connectivity. Mil spec hand controllers are available from Ultra-MSI.

Integrated Solution The Quantum is designed to seamlessly integrate with the full Churchill Navigation product line. From capturing video, to our industry-leading Augmented Reality Mission Management System (ARS), video recording (ION) hardware, and online video management (Earthscape), Churchill Navigation, is the only company to develop, build, and support all of the equipment your mission demands.

Mechanical Interface The Quantum gimbal base provides a standard 8-hole pattern to easily interface with a variety of standard mounting options. Some options include the Meeker Aviation, Quick Disconnect Device (QDD) mount and a NATO Standard 14” suspension lug adapter plate is also available.
