Dear Novice Teacher Mentoring Committee,

As part of a district wide initiative to reduce high teacher turnover

related to unprofessionalism, McCorked ISD is assembling a

Novice Teacher Mentoring Committeeto plan professionaldevelopments once a month starting in the fall. Congratulations,

because of your commendable professionalism you have been

nominated by your principal to represent your school on this

committee.

The overall goal of this committee is to help novice teachers

manage ongoing challenges that threaten their professional roles.

The committees first task will be to organize specific sub-

committees around major issues associated with educator

dismissal. Subsequently, before the beginning of school, I am

asking that each sub-committee develop and deliver a two (2) hour

professional development pertaining to the given issue.

More specifics regarding this task will be outlined in upcoming

correspondence.
