Error Function Update
• Can create improved Holland Interpolated Wind Field:
Holland_Improved(q, d) = Holland_Interp(q, d) - Normalized Holland Interp Error Function (q, d) * Max Wind
• Likewise, can create improved Modified Rankine Wind Field:
Rankine_Improved(q, d) = Rankine_Interp(q, d) - Normalized Rankine Interp Error Function (q, d) * Max Wind
Summary
• In general, Modified Rankine with error function appears superior to other interpolations– Improvements most dramatic near core of storm– Do not need to code much within TCMWindTool (just add function to
interpolated wind fields)• Will make images and radial plots available online for viewing
