Professional Qualification Programme The Centre for Extension Education (CEE) offers Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Professional Qualification Programme to members of the public and UTAR graduates to prepare for the CCNA 640-802 certification exam. CCNA is an entry level certification to Cisco’s world recognized certification programs in the area of networking technologies. It validates the knowledge and skills required to install, operate and troubleshoot a small to medium-sized routed and switched network. This certification is an ideal supplement to existing work experience, particularly in the area of IT networks; where it can provide a potential competitive edge in the marketplace. It is also useful for fresh graduates who would like to enhance their practical skills in network configuration. Prerequisites of the CCNA Professional Qualification Programme: participants should have either working experience in configuring network equipment, or from courses on TCP/IP networking as part of an academic programme. The CCNA Professional Qualification classes are conducted by UTAR academic staff who are qualified Cisco Certified Academic Instructors The CCNA classes are based on the official CCNA Exploration training materials. The instruction includes lectures and hands-on labs involving the configuration of Cisco routers and switches. This programme is divided into four modules according to the syllabus in CCNA Exploration curriculum. The total number of training hours for each module is forty eight hours, which will be conducted over a period of eight days. The actual CCNA certification can optionally be taken at any Pearson VUE testing center in Malaysia.
