Payment Types

Paper Based– Cheques– Managers Cheques any Citi draft is known as manager’s cheque.– Demand draft.

Electronic

NEFT RTGS A2A CBFT

Enables the user to make payments from Citi account to any other bank account

Same as NEFT

But RTGS is primarily for large value transactions.

The minimum amount to be remitted through RTGS is Rs.1 lakh.

Payment from one citi account to another citi account.

Enables the user to make payments abroad.

Payment Entry into the system

Manual Input Here the customer needs to manually feed in the details to make a payment.

Preformat Citi provides a feature known as Preformat where in the customer can save a payment made as a template. So every time he is not required to punch in the details, all he needs to do is pull out the saved template change the amt and hit the payment button.

Bulk Upload Customer provides Citi with the payment data saved in a file. Citi’s bulk upload module uploads this file into the system with the help of the convertors (citi’s application to convert the files in a specific format). Once the bulk upload is done by the user. The data is uploaded and resides in the checkers tray. Only when the checker (authorizer) authorizes the data then only the payment goes in for processing. Paylink accepts all the transaction coming from CitiDirect . It acts as an interface between CitiDirect ,Cheque Processing Centre ,Flex Cube. All the audit of the transactions takes place in Paylink.

Host to Host (H2H) There may be a case where in the customer is not interested in using the CitiDirect portal. Here the CFX (Citi file exchange) acts as a back bone. CFX enables the customer to push the files into CitiDirect via ftp or IP.

SMIME Another feature provided by CitiDirect that enables the user to encrypt files (to ensure security) that are to be uploaded. Philips/Idea is some of the customer that uses this channel for making payments.

CitiDirect Capabilities


Reports A CitiDirect user can view and download reports.

AFRD Automated File Report Delivery. A feature that enables the user to get the reports delivered into his inbox without the hassle of logging into the system and downloading it. These files sent via email are password protected to ensure security.

Export An option that allows the user to download the reports in a specific format that is recognized by his system( SAP/ERP) so that he can upload these downloaded files into his system for reconciliation purpose.

Event Notification CitiDirect ensures that every debit or credit in his account is notified to the customer via an email by Event notification module. This is a real time based since on every transaction the user gets notified.

Trade Products offered by CITIDirect

Open Account A mode of payment whereby the shipping documents are sent by the exporter directly to the importer, without coursing the documents through the banks, upon the buyer’s promise to pay at some future date after shipment.

Documentary Collections Seller sends documents thru his banker to buyer’s bank.

The Letter of Credit – is a conditional bank undertaking of payment– is an arrangement by banks to facilitate and settle international trade– provides a form of security to the parties involved– ensures payment provided the terms and conditions of the credit have

been fulfilled– payment is based on DOCUMENTS ONLY

Bank Guarantee It’s similar to LC but here the bank gets involved only in case of non performance assurance.
