Improvements will include• New ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible curb

ramps• New 5’-6’ wide sidewalk• New concrete bus loading pad at Covered Bridge Road intersection• New storm drain inlet and pipes• New concrete retaining wall

Will the project impact my property?


• Limits of Disturbance show approximate area affected by construction.

• Fences and trees may be impacted on properties

adjacent to project.• If private property is to

be impacted during construction, we will obtain an easement or right-of-way before work begins.

LIMITS OF DISTURBANCE

Land Acquisition Process• Will occur after pre-final design complete.• Plats will be prepared showing easements

and/or right-of-way needed.• Land Acquisition Agent will contact

property owners to negotiate.

Construction • We will coordinate with property owners

well in advance.• Fences may be temporarily removed &

replaced. Relocation to private property may be necessary, if currently within the right-of-way.

• Work hours are set by VDOT.

Schedule

• Intermediate Design – October 2015• Pre-final Design – Summer 2016• Land Acquisition – Summer 2016 to Spring 2017• Final Design – Winter 2017• Construction – Summer 2017 to Winter 2018
