I, ROHERT E. NOVITXE, Mayor of the City of Grosse

Pointe Woods, Michigan, do hereby proclaim the 7th day

of July, 1992, as Father Demetrios S. Kavadas Day within

the City of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, in commemoration

of the thirty-fifth anniversary of the ordination of

Father Kavadas to the priesthood and in recognition of

Father Kavadas' thirty years of service as Pastor of

the Assumption Creek Orthodox Church and Cultural Center

of St. Clair shores, Michigan.

On behalf of the citizens of the City of Grosse

Pointe Woods, Father Kavadas is congratulated for his

years of dedicated service to the community and for nurturing

of the Assumption Greek Orthodox and Cultural Center

since its establishment.

Motion by Wilson, supported by Bidigare, regarding Requestto Use Lake Front Park Swimming Pool - Grosse Pointe PublicSchools, that the City Council concur with therecommendation of the Acting City Administrator, Director ofPublic Works, and the Lake Front Park Supervisor and APPROVEthe request of the new SCAMP program to use the Lake FrontPark Swimming Pool on Fridays from June 29 through July 31;

And that a copy of proper liability insurance is providedthe City and that all rules and regulations must befollowed.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE V, CHAPTER 14, SECTION 5-14-6(ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS PROCEDURES) OF THE CITY CODE OFTHE CITY OF GROSSE POINTE WOODS OF 1975_

THE CITY OF GROSSE POINTE WOODS ORDAINS:

Section 1 : That Title V, Chapter 14, Section 5-14-6 of

the City Code of the C:. c of Groscf: Pointe Woods of 1975 be amendedto read as follows:

5-14-6 HEARINGS: Upon receipt of an appeal to the Board ofAnneals and the payment to the City of the required

appeal fee, the City Clerk shall establish a date for a publichearing on such appeal at the next regular City councilmeeting and shall cause a notice of such hearing to be pub-lished in the official newspaper of the City not less than 7

days nor more than 15 days prior to the proposed hearing. The

City Clerk shall also give due notice thereof of not less than 7days nor more than 1-, day- to the persons to whom real propertywithin three hundred feet (300') of the premises in question isassessed and to the occupants of single and two family dwellingswithin three hundred feet (300') of such property the notice to bedelivered personally or by mail addressed to the respective ownersand tenants at the address given in the last assessment roll. ifthe name of the owner or tenant is not known, the term "occupant"may be used. Upon the hearing, a party may appear in person or by

an attorney.

Section 2 : EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall becomeeffective aster a public hearing held thereon by the PlanningCommission, adoption by the City Council and the publication of anotice of adoption in the official newspaper of the City of Grosse

WHEREAS, the imposition of a 10 cent per cubic yard fee uponrubbish delivered to the Grosse Pointes-Clinton Refuse DisposalAuthority incinerator is estimated to result in an annual fee ofbetween $62,400.00 and $72,800.00; and

WHEREAS, the CITY OF GROSSE POINTE WOODS is a member of the GrossePointes-Clinton Refuse Disposal Authority and any resultingincrease in operating expenses of the Incinerator Authority mustbe paid by the taxpayers of all the member communities of theAuthority;

WHEREAS, the City Council of the CITY OF GROSSE POINTE WOODS findsproposed legislation that singles out one community for benefitsat the expense of other communities to be patently offensive;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the Cityof Grosse Pointe Woods is opposed to the provisions of substituteSB 322 which, if enacted into law, would provide a windfall incometo the Township of Clinton at the expense of the taxpayers of sevenmunicipal members of the Grosse Pointes-Clinton Refuse DisposalAuthority.
