2nd STREET SEWER MAIN LINE REPLACEMENT
One of two most critical main lines in city’s sewer infrastructure
Replaced line between H Street and B Street
Line was over 50 years old –well excessive of the life expectancy of clay composition
Consequences of failure would have been tremendous and include environmental and financial loss
CDBG Grant $1,268,835 / City Match $53,120Project Total = $1,321,955
SEWER LOAN MODIFICATION –Saving Ratepayers $15 million
City has a $43.8 million SRF loan for Waste Water Treatment Plant upgrades
Sewer Fund was unstable and unable to make payments
Months of negotiations by City staff and Council with the State Water Resources Control Board
BIG win for ratepayers and aided Sewer Fund towards becoming solvent
