STRAW BALE DIKE GENERAL NOTES:

1. EACH BALE SHALL BE EMBEDDED IN THE SOIL A MINIMUM OFFOUR INCHES.

2. BALES SHALL BE SECURELY ANCHORED IN PLACE BY 2" X 2"WOOD STAKES DRIVEN THROUGH THE BALES. THE FIRST STAKEIN EACH BALE SHALL BE ANGLED TOWARD THE PREVIOUSLY LAIDBALE TO FORCE THE BALES TOGETHER.

3. INSPECTION SHALL BE MADE EVERY TWO WEEKS AND AFTEREACH 1/2" RAINFALL EVENT. REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT SHALL BEMADE PROMPTLY AS NEEDED BY THE CONTRACTOR.

4. WHEN SILT REACHES A DEPTH OF 6 INCHES, IT SHALL BEREMOVED AND DISPOSED OF IN AN APPROVED MANNER.

5. AFTER THE DISTURBED AREAS OF THE SITE ARE COMPLETELYSTABILIZED, THE BALES SHALL BE REMOVED AND DISPOSED OFAT AN APPROVED SPOIL DISPOSAL SITE.
