    Unparalleled Creativity and CollaborationWill Take Over Silo City on September 8th

    Buffalo, NY The Emerging Leaders in the Arts Buffalo (ELAB) present CITY ofNIGHT, an unparalleled celebration of art, history, culture, and sustainability inBuffalo. The event will be held at the Silo City grain elevators in the Old FirstWard, September 8, 2012 from 4pm to 2am. Admission is free.

    CITY of NIGHT promises to be a highly interactive, uniquely Buffalo experience.ELAB will collaborate with, and showcase, a number of local organizations andindividuals that constantly work to make Buffalo a wonderfully livable city.Throughout the venue, attendees will be able to observe and participate invarious forms of live art-making, such as murals, installations, and plein-airpainting. For this night, Silo city will be host to performance artists, poets andsound installations, live music (Kevin Doyle, Armageddon Party, Free Henry!,Zero City, Buffalo's Best Kept Secret: Christy Smothers), and awe-inspiringbreakdance and modern dance performances.

    The Emerging Leaders in the Arts (ELAB), in addition to hosting the event,will be coordinating a small art fair featuring works of art for sale from localartists and artisans, a cultural row, a community mural project and a livecollaborative Exquisite Corpse-style drawing created by dozens of local artists.

    GO Bike Buffalo will will host a bicycle ride kickoff to the event, leading groupsof cyclists from downtown Buffalo to Silo City on the half hour, free of charge. ABicycle Valet will be available on-site at the event.

    Painting for Preservation will lead an "Art-In", encouraging amateur &professional artists to document the the historic Silo City site with paint,photography, or other methods. (Bring your own materials)

    The Campaign for Greater Buffalowill offer a tour of the Old First Ward

    and nearby grain elevators aboard the Open-Air Autobus, as well as walking toursof the site during the event (by set donation).

    WNY Sustainable Energy Association will demonstrate energy efficiencytechniques for the home & office.

    Arts Services Initiative will share their current projects: grants/funding andinsurance opportunities for local artists & arts groups, Buffalo RiverProgramming, and cultural mapping.

    Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation will show the public all thegreat things happening at the Inner & Outer Harbor.

    Attendees will be able to experience the history of Silo City with docent-ledwalking tours and kayak tours in the Buffalo River with BFLO Harbor Kayak (bydonation). Free workshops and demonstrations related to historic research,preservation, and sustainability will also be offered. In order to showcaseBuffalos vibrant cultural scene, the event's cultural row will feature organizationsvested in art, history, culture, and sustainability. And of course, what Buffalo-hosted celebration would be complete without local food trucks, and a beer andwine tent.To close the night, audio-visual DJ PROJEX will perform a well-curated mix of

    modern electronic music with an eye-catching display of projections on the grainelevators. The event will become a giant dance party in the courtyard betweenbuildings. The large community mural will be unfurled from the top of one of thenearby elevators at the culminating moment around midnight!
