CITY OF WESTMINSTER - BUILT ENVIRONMENT DELEGATED AUTHORITY OBJECTIONS REPORT - SERIAL NO. W1·5925 TRAFFIC ORDERS - PICCADILLY (BUS STOPS) RELOCATION OF BUS STOPS (DRAWING NO. 11677049·01 REV. A) BACKGROUND In connection with the redevelopment of No. 118 Piccadilly, the developer has requested that the bus stop Infrastructure and guard railing outside this premise be relocated to Improve access/egress for future patrons and delivery vehicles. No. 118 Piccadilly Is located on the north-west side of Piccadilly, between Old Park Lane and Down Street. Between these two roads there Is a with-flow bus lane operating between 4pm and 7pm on Mondays to Saturdays, with supplementary 'at any time' double yellow line waiting restrictions and loading restrictions operating between 10am and 7pm on Mondays to Saturdays. There are also two 'at any time' bus stop c1earways separated by a plcking-up/setting-down and loading gap. To move the bus stop Infrastructure (flag, shelter and ticket machine) westward from outside No. 118 Piccadilly, It will also be necessary to move the bus stop ciearway westward. Guard railing outside No. 118 Piccadilly would also be removed, thereby reducing street clutter and improving the street scene without compromising pedestrian safety. In order to maintain a suitable loading gap between the two bus stops the one outside Nos. 128 to 134 Piccadilly should also be moved westward. This would create an overlap of the bus lane entry taper and the bus stop cage and It Is therefore necessary to extend the bus lane westward. The developer of No. 118 Piccadilly has agreed to meet all the costs associated with the relocation of the bus stop infrastructure. The developer has consulted the owner of No. 11 9 Piccadilly who has no objection to the proposal. Transport for London also has no objection to the proposal. On 4th July 2012 the City Commissioner of Transportation considered and approved a report under his delegated powers allowing consultation on proposed relocation of bus stops. Following the publication/posting of press and street notices during July/August 2012 and consultation with frontagers and other key parties on the proposed measures one letter of objection and two letters offering no objection or comment were received, as detailed In the appendix to this report. The extent of the letter consultation Included 6 ward councillors, 6 local residents' association, 33 statutory bodies and 78 frontagers. 59251JB West One. TRAFFIC ORDERS - PICCADILLY (BUS STOPS)

RELOCATION OF BUS STOPS (DRAWING NO. 11677049·01 REV. A)

BACKGROUND

In connection with the redevelopment of No.

APPENDIX

No objection, subject to comments - however as this will come to me/Martin Low for decision I have no' further comment at this

1.

2. I Thank you for your letter (reference 5925/J8) about I 2. proposed extensions of bus lanes and bus stop clearways on the eastbound carriageway of Piccadilly to assist with the redevelopment of 118 Piccadilly.

The Society has nooblection to what is proposed.

3. I I am frankly surprised to receive ypur' letter this 'late' in I 3. the day, as the bus stops have already been moved -and I was shown this, revised plan at that time - some months ago.

4. I I also then met with a representative of the Council - I 4. who acknowledged my concerns about the moved bus stop (now within our property line and within the parameters of our secondary entrance) - and who reassured' me that the proposal to move the ticket machine would be 'shelved' (It was then moved a couple of days rater !)

5. I am concerned, that - as acknowledged by your I 5. correspondence - changes to benefit the development at 118 Piccadilly are being made to the disadvantage of other properties in this section of Piccadilly.
