What are Parking Standards and why are they being reviewed?

For every new development project undertaken in Burlington, the city is responsible for determining how many parking spaces should be provided. The amount, design and size of car parking spaces is determined by the city’s parking standards.

The city is reviewing the current parking standards to determine where updates may be required to reflect emerging trends in transportation, while still meeting current levels of demand.

The recommendations of the Parking Standards Review will be used as the basis for updating parking regulations and design standards for development in Burlington as part of the Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw Review.

Get involved

The Public Open House will be an opportunity for the public to learn about the Parking Standards Review and provide feedback on parking issues in the city.

Public Open House Wednesday, March 30, 2016 6:30 – 8 p.m. Art Gallery of Burlington Shoreline Room 1333 Lakeshore Rd., Burlington

Paid parking is available at the Art Gallery, as well as free parking after 6 p.m. at the nearby municipal parking lots.

For more information or to sign up for updates on the Parking Standards Review, visit burlington.ca/2016parking.

Can’t attend the open house? Fill out an online survey at burlington.ca/parkingstandards.

Members of the public are invited to drop in at a Public Open House on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, between 6:30–8 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Burlington to provide feedback on the city-wide Parking Standards Review.
