GENERAL INFORMATION The purpose of Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring is:
• To record of the impact of construction works to the project structures, to the constructions in the influence zone, or beyond of it if necessary.
• To contribute to the optimization of construction methods.
• To confirm design assumptions.
• To provide information data for back analysis purposes.
• In case of alert or alarm levels, to warn the appropriate persons/authorities, in order to implement corrective measures.
Due to the size of Cityringen Project and the monitoring requirements, the only way to achieve the above is to use advanced instrumented methods and a powerful data management tool.
MONITORING DATABASE
The main objective of the monitoring database is to serve as a project-oriented information system that is used over the whole life cycle of an underground construction, from design to service.
Kronos Monitoring Database:
• saves all project data on a unique storage platform
• Provides multi-user access to project data, no matter if they work directly on-site or remotely.
The information system provides advanced applications such as:
• interfaces and services for data analysis, visualisation, exchange, reporting and alarming.
MONITORING DATABASE KRONOS
For Cityringen Project KRONOS is used for the data management of:
- surface monitoring (manual and automatic),
- for all geotechnical and hydro-geological monitoring instruments on the surface, in excavations and for environmental monitoring (e.g. vibration, noise, etc.).
- TBM machine data.
- Building information

MONITORING DATABASE KRONOS BUILDING DATA
TBM MACHINE DATA
TBM progress, machine and guidance system data is arranged and stored per stroke (per ring). This means that all data collected within one stroke is stored in one folder, which is named after the stroke number (ring number) and shows the start and end chainage as attributes.
