Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Navigating Alameda County Jobs: Civil Service 101 seminar. Alameda County Probation Department is collaborating with Alameda County Human Resource Services Agency to host The Re-Entry Hiring Program’s (Pathway to Success Initiative) 2nd Civil Service workshop for justice involved individuals, county employees, and service providers.

A specialized "train the trainer" workshop will be held each day for service providers and AB 109 funding recipients. This workshop will equip community providers and other county personnel with the skills, information, and resources needed to orient clients to the Alameda County Civil Service examination process.

WORKSHOP DAYS, TIMES, & LOCATION Multiple 90-minute sessions will be held on July 22nd & 29th, 2019 at 1111 Jackson St., 2nd fl., Suite 226-228, Oakland, CA.

WORKSHOP INFORMATION: Workshop attendees are invited to complete a 90 minute session where Human Resource personnel will review the following information:

• Defining civil service• Reviewing Alameda County employment opportunities• Reviewing the new job classification created for formerly incarcerated individuals and other

entry-level positions• Alameda County Human Resources recruitment process• Accessing job bulletins• The different types of examinations & screening processes• Preparing for the oral civil service exam and other behavioral-based interviewing methods
