RALLIEMENT DES HIGHLAND CLANS - PARIS 10.2.2017BRUNS NIGHT

For several months we were all- Scottish Clans of the Highlands- invited by Elizabeth and Alan MacLean to le ‘Ralliement des Clans of the Highlands’ to attend. A rendez vous which Liliane, my wife and I would not miss . Why? Here we feel at home. Despite the several calls we were happy Clans friends Johan and Carina Van Hyfte were at the party. As for two years, it

was once again cold to go to Le Cercle de la Mer.

Thanks to Alan MacLean, President clan MacLean France, and his wife Elisabeth, we could once again look forward to a wonderful evening, on the Seine, next to the Eiffel Tower. It was endearing, after two years, 100 invitees to encounter, namely two years ago, 75 guests, four years ago, 50 guests. The Clans MacLean with the presence of Robin MacLean, Chieftain

and his wife Fiona, Clans MacKenzie, MacKinnon, Cameron, MacGregor, Lamont, Fraser MacDonald, Hay were all present. Thank you to all Clans to make it a point to be there. So good of France, Germany, Scotland, Belgium, there were participants.The entrance of Clan Presidents / Convenor was preceded by the Piper. Many thanks to Didier Bauland. This year three Pipers played their tunes. The menu was once again outstanding. The Clans were asked each to hear his cry, or motto. The excellent meal was again closed with Toast to the Clans- and a nice

tasting of single malt whiskey.Evening dancing with traditional Ceilidth. We went with great souvenirs back to our hotel passing the Eiffel . Once again thanks to Elisabeth and Alan MacLean.Wij hope in 2019 once again to witness a Burns Night ‘ Ralliement des Highland Clans ‘in Paris with more Clans. This is an invitation to ALL Scottish Highland Clans. We now look forward to the rest of the Clan activities across Europe. During the dinner, we were able to announce -Aubigny sur Nère 14-15-16 July 2017 Fêtes Franco-Ecossaises and Scottish Days- 19-20 August 2017 in Waterloo with a special memorial at the monument of Ferme de Hougoumont-inaugurated by H.R.H. Prince Charles in 2015.

Depuis plusieurs mois, nous étions comme - Clans écossais du HIGHLANDS- invités par Elizabeth et Alan MacLean au «Ralliement des Clans des Highlands ‘ . Un rendez-vous qui Liliane, ma femme et moi ne voudrais pas manquer pour rien au monde. Pourquoi? Ici nous nous sentons à la maison. Malgré les appels nos amis Johan et Carina Van Hyfte étaient de la parti. Comme depuis deux ans, il faisait encore une fois froid pour aller au Cercle de la Mer.Merci à Alan MacLean, président du clan MacLean France, et son épouse Elisabeth, nous pouvions à nouveau vivre une merveilleuse soirée, sur la Seine, à côté de la Tour Eiffel. Merci à tous les Clans de faire un point pour être là. Donc, des invités aussi bien de la France, l’Allemagne, l’Ecosse, la Belgique, étaient présent.L’entrée des présidents des clans / Convenors a été précédée par le Piper. Un grand merci à Didier Bauland. Nous étions ravi que trois pipers jouaient des tunes splendides.Le menu était une nouvelle fois exceptionnelle. On a demandé à chaque Clan de faire entendre son cri de guerre, ou sa devise. L’excellent repas a été clôturé avec le Toast aux Clans- et une belle dégustation de whisky single malt. Nous avons fini la soirée en dansant du Ceilidth traditionnelle. Nous sommes retourné à l’hotel en passant devant la Tour Eiffel . une autre fois merci à Elisabeth et Alan MacLean.Nous espérons de se revoir en 2019 pour assister à un Burns Night Ralliement des Highland Clans à Paris avec plus de Clans. Ceci est une invitation à tous les écossais Highland Clans. Nous attendons maintenant avec impatience le reste des activités de clans à travers l’Europe. Pendant le dîner, nous avons été en mesure d’annoncer les 14-15-16

Sinds enkele maanden werden wij allen- Scottish Clans of the Highlands- uitgenodigd door Elisabeth en Alan MacLean om le ‘Ralliement des Clans des Highlands’ bij te wonen. Een rendez-vous die Lilien, mijn echtgenote en ikzelf voor geen geld van de werled willen missen. Waarom? Hier voelen

wij ons thuis. Ondanks de uitnodigingen , waren onze Clans vrienden Johan en Carina Van Hyfte van de partij. Zoals voor 2 jaar, was het weerom koud om naar le Cercle de la Mer te gaan.Dank zij Alan MacLean, President clan MacLean France, en zijn echtgenote Elisabeth, konden wij weerom een prachtige avond tegemoet zien, op de Seine, vlak naast de Eiffeltoren. Het deed deugd om, na twee jaar, 100 genodigden tegen te komen, te weten twee jaar geleden,75 genodigden, vier jaar geleden, 50 genodigden. De Clans MacLean met de aanwezigheid van Robin MacLean , Chieftain, en zijn echtgenote Fiona, Clans MacKenzie,

MacKinnon, Cameron, Mac Gregor, Lamont, Fraser, , MacDonald, Hay waren allen aanwezig. Hartelijk dank aan alle Clans om er een punt van te maken om erbij te zijn. Zo goed van Frankrijk, Duitsland, Schotland, Noorwegen, Belgiê waren er deelnemers. De entrée van de Clan Presidents/Convenor werd voorafgegaan door de Piper. Hartelijk dank aan Didier Bauland. De menu was weerom voortreffelijk . De Clans werden gevraagd ieder zijn strijdkreet, of devies te laten horen. De voortreffelijke maaltijd werd ook weer gesloten met Toast to the Clans- en een mooie tasting van Single Malt whisky . Wij sloten de avond af met de traditionele Ceilidth dansen. Wij zijn met mooie herrinneringen terug langs de Eiffeltoren naar ons hotel gegaan.Nogmaals dank aan Elisabeth en Alan MacLean.Wij hopen in 2019 weerom een Burns Night-Ralliement des Highland Clans in Parijs te mogen meemaken met nog meer Clans. Dit is een uitnodiging aan ALLE Highland Schotse Clans. Wij kijken nu uit naar het verdere verloop van de Clan activiteiten over Europa. Tijdens de dinner, konden wij aankondigen –Aubigny sur Nère 14-15-16 Juli 2017–Fêtes Franco-Ecossaises alsook Scottish Days- 19-20 Augustus 2017 in Waterloo met een speciale Memorial aan het monument van Ferme de Hougoumont-ingehuldigd door H.R.H . Prince Charles in 2015.

Following the appointment of Babeth Donnet-Daems as Convenor Brussels Region, we were looking forward to her first Clan Hay New Year Lunch in Jesus-Eik. The Church of Jesus-Eik was once again filled as in the early years of the New Year ceremony, already ten years ago. The Pipers of Clan Hay Pipe Band were once again present with six Pipes & Drums. They surrounded as always the ceremony with beautiful music. All participants meditated on the life and death during the five minutes of silence, dedicated to meditation. After the ceremony we all went in procession to Jesus-Eik Restaurant, opposite the church. The aperitif was offered by Clan Hay Continental Europe, thanks to the proceeds from the raffles during the activities. Each participant could choose his menu to his choice and budget. Meanwhile, Chev.Philippe Vervoort played a surprise “Happy Birthday” on his bagpipes for a birthday guest. The atmosphere was for the first time, truly “family”. No one had actually want to go home.The tombola/raffle , led by Françoise Delannoy, Treasurer Clan Hay and Babeth Donnet-Daems organized the raffle. Thank you for the many, many great prizes. Thanks to the raffle/tombola we could scrape together € 300.00. Thanks again to all for your presence. We were pleased that different youths were also present. We look forward to your presence next year , especially the young people Hay. The next edition of “Clan Hay New Years Lunch 2018” will take place on January 28, 2018. To 11.30uur in Jesus-Eik.

Après la nomination de Babeth Donnet-Daems comme Convenor Région de Bruxelles,c’était un moment merveilleux pour organiser son premier Clan

New Year Lunch à Jésus-Eik. L’Eglise de Jésus-Eik a été une fois de plus rempli comme dans les premières années de la cérémonie du Nouvel An, il y a déjà dix ans. The Clan Hay Pipe Band était une nouvelle fois présent avec six Pipes & Drums. Ils apportaient comme toujours une touche splendide à la cérémonie avec de la belle musique. Tous les participants ont médité sur la vie et la mort au cours des cinq minutes de silence, dédiée à la méditation. Après la cérémonie, nous sommes tous allés en procession à Jesus-Eik Restaurant, face à l’église. L’apéritif a été offert par clan Hay Continental Europe, grâce aux recettes provenant des tirages au sort au cours des activités. Chaque participant pouvait choisir son menu au choix et selon son budget. Pendant ce

temps, Chev.Philippe Vervoort a joué un “Happy Birthday” surprise sur sa cornemuse pour un invité fêtant son anniversaire. L’atmosphère était pour la première fois, vraiment «famille». Personne n’a eu réellement envie de rentrer à la maison.La tombola, dirigée par Françoise Delannoy, trésorière du clan Hay et Babeth Donnet-Daems ont organisé la tombola. Merci aux nombreux nombreux prix,. Grâce à la tombola nous pouvions ramasser € 300.00. Merci encore à tous pour votre présence. Nous avons été heureux que les jeunes étaient également présents.Bienvenue également l’année prochaine , en particulier les jeunes. La prochaine édition du «clan Hay New Years Lunch 2018» aura lieu le 28 Janvier 2018. A 11.30uur en Jésus-Eik.

Na de benoeming van Babeth Donnet-Daems als Convenor Region Brussels, was het uitkijken naar haar eerste Clan Hay New Year Lunch in Jezus-Eik. De kerk van Jezus-Eik was weerom gevuld als bij de beginjaren van de New Year ceremony, nu reeds tien jaren geleden. De Pipers van de Clan Hay Pipe Band waren weerom present met zes Pipes & Drums. Zij omkaderden zoals altijd met prachtige muziek de ceremonie. Alle aanwezigen mediteerden op de dood en het leven tijdens de vijf minuten stilte, toegewijd tot meditatie. Na de ceremony trokken wij allen in stoet naar Restaurant Jezus-Eik, rechtover de kerk. Het aperitief werd aangeboden door Clan Hay Continental Europe, dank zij de opbrengst van de tombola’s tijdens de activiteiten. Ieder deelnemer kon zijn menu uitkiezen naar zijn keuze en budget. Ondertussen, speelde Chev.

Philippe Vervoort een onverwaht ‘Happy Birthday ‘ op zijn doedelzak

voor een jarige gast. De ambiance, was voor de eerste maal, echt ‘familie’. Niemand had eigenlijk zin naar huis te gaan.De tombola, geleid door Françoise Delannoy, Treasurer van de Clan Hay en Babeth Donnet-Daems organiseerden de tombola. Hartelijk aan de vele , vele mooie prijzen. Dank zij de tombola konden wij 300,00€ tesamen sprokkelen. Nogmaals dank aan allen voor jullie aanwezigheid. Wij waren verheugd dat verschillende jongeren ook aanwezig waren. Zij allen ook volgend jaar aanwezig, zeker de jongeren. De volgende editie van ‘Clan Hay New Years Lunch 2018 ‘ zal plaats vinden op 28 januari 2018. Om 11.30uur in Jezus-Eik.
