PREFACE
n March 13, we started our practice teaching in University Laboratory School and
College. This was the first time I got a chance of applying my three years of
knowledge of education for real. As a secondary student I took and observed
secondary classes. In real world doing something is not as easy as it is said on books. The
school had many problems. Teachers take classes as they like and it is hard for them to
provide quality education for many reasons. The student’s age limit was 12 to 15/16. So,
attracting these adolescents in traditional classes is hard job. Bearing these hard facts in
mind, I’m making my class observation report. About the classes I observed, there were
some teachers who had very rich experiences than me. With due respect to them I’m
analyzing this as a student of education in order to learn more.
In my observation report at first I present the general description of classes. And then I
present the teacher’s teaching methodologies in these segments are given bellow:

INTRODUCTION
.
hile taking classes, teachers have to be
careful in some directions. S/he presents the
lesson in the most appropriate way for the
students and also needs to add his/her own methodology
of teaching. According to the Herbatian teaching model,
there are five steps classroom teaching.
They are-
Preparation
Presentation
Generalization
Application and
Evaluation
I observed the classes on the basis of these steps. I
enclosed some strong sides and some weak sides of the
observation classes. I have also given some suggestions,
which will be helpful in developing teaching standard.
W
There is a wise saying that,
“today’s students are the future
leaders of any country or nation.”
It is the teachers who work with
the most important part of the
nation. The young learners of
school are like blank pages. It is
up to us what we write on them.
They will become whatever they
are trained to become. Teachers
have the power to smooth the
way to progress than any other.
Therefore it is very important for
them to understand the outcome
of their responsibilities

OBJECTIVES OF THE REPORT
The primary objective of this report is to help the partial requirement in the
Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) degree. Objectives of this report are given bellow:
To find out the class maintaining procedures
To find out the teaching methods and strategy of trained teachers
To find out the present practical problems in the classroom communication
SCOPE OF THE REPORT
The Class Observation Report covers the main features, positive aspects,
weaknesses of teaching-learning process and recommendations to overcome
these weaknesses. At the very beginning of my internship I have observed two
classes taken by regular teachers of cooperating school. I shall try to image those
observations in this report.

DESCRIPTION OF CLASSROOMS
He school has 33 classrooms 14 of which are situated in one three-
storied building and other 19 are situated in rest of the three-storied
building. There are little difference between the classrooms of three-
storied building and two-storied Office building.
T

The shape of the classroom is almost squire.
Windows are in the both right and left side of the
class and the only door is in the left side of the class. The door is not
very much spacious.
Every three students sit in a bench. Having
a little distance with writing tables are equal to bench in length. There
are 5 columns and 9 rows of benches in the classroom. The benches
are congested. There should be more space for each student for
moving frequently and easily.
: The blackboard is put in the wall of the class. It is not
portable but fixed. It is in the middle of the front wall to the students. The
color of the black board is all right and it is smooth to write with chalks.
The duster can easily wipe out the writings in the board.
The natural lighting is adequate for the class.
There are 5 electric fans
and lights in the class. The arrangement is quite adequate for the class.
The wooden chair is in the front side of the
class. There is no table for teacher. The chair is quite ok, as we should
use in not for a long time to sit there while teaching.
The color of the walls in the class is white but is fade.
It should be brighter.
There are no other furniture except the above-mentioned
writing tables and benches for students and the chair for the teacher. There
should be at least one cupboard and a bulletin board in the class.

CONCLUSION
ccording to these reports I can say that, the teaching quality of University
Laboratory School and College is not very good. It is their tradition to give
out exact suggestions before examinations. When we took class tests some
of their teachers came to us and told us to
increase some number to their chosen
students! Very few teachers teach
properly, others have the idea that the
students are bound to be bad and it would
be a waste of time to try and teach them in
class. As we know teaching – learning is a two way process, every teacher should try
hard to make this useful. Teachers have to be sincere and honest in teaching, so that the
students can learn the best. Teachers should try their best to make the class effective and
joyful. I found some teachers make the physical harassment of the students! A good
training would make good workers. Teachers simply cannot convince themselves for
being irresponsible. Because they play the vital roles, they work with fresh minds which
are about to bloom into new hopes and possibilities.
