Be nice to your parents so they want to buy you a cool feature in the yearbook! Parents & Students Welcome to the final year(s) of Rio! This

Newsletter will be published quarterly and posted on the VICCI page found via the Rio Website. For seniors, it will have information and remind-ers to help you successfully complete your final year of high school and help you prepare for next year, whether you are planning on college, a ca-reer, job training, or the military. You can expect to find details about college and military visita-tions, application deadlines, SAT and ACT test dates, scholarship opportunities, etc. For jun-iors, it will give you focus on what to expect next year and allow you to start planning now. Good luck in this exciting and busy year!

College Testing The SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT (American College Test) is required by most 4-year colleges and universities. UC’s and many private schools also suggest 2 SAT Subject Tests. Rio Ameri-cano’s school code is 052730. Community col-leges (American River, Sacramento City, Sierra, Cosumnes River, and Folsom Lake) give their placement tests at the time of registration. Mock SAT/ACT Rio Americano will be offering a mock SAT/ACT exam on Saturday, September 24 on the Rio Americano campus. The cost is $25.00. Please sign up in the office. Forms are located in the main office and in the counseling office.
