Central Square students were also inducted into the National Technical Honor Society during a ceremony held at the CiTi Mexico campus for career and technical education students.

Each of the Central Square School District inductees demonstrated responsibility, service, leadership, skill, scholarship, honesty and citizenship. In addition, they met additional eligibility criteria, which included maintaining a 90 percent or higher average in their CTE class, while also maintaining good academic standing and attendance in their home school.

Students who were honored with two-year recognition received a medal worn during the Central Square graduation ceremony.

Central Square Exceptional Education Students Honored at CiTi

Central Square New Vision students in Allied Health, Law and Government and Specialized Careers programs at the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation (CiTi) were recognized at a special graduation ceremony held at SUNY Oswego.

The New Vision programs are designed for high school seniors, combining classroom instruction, college coursework and clinical rotations with local business partners such as Oswego Health and Fulton City Police. Class of 2019

Graduates Participate in Third Annual Elementary Walk-Through

Central Square seniors once again walk the halls of their respective elementary schools in full cap and gown, reminiscing where it all began before they approach the finish line: graduation. Elementary students and staff line the halls cheering on the near-graduates. Some made signs, some played instruments and others sang. The memorable event serves to encourage and inspire younger Redhawks, the future graduates of Central Square. After the walk, they had the chance to ask the seniors questions.

Central Square Exceptional Education students from the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation smile proudly with their diplomas. Not letting any adversity, challenge or obstacle prevent them from achieving their crowning moment, each student walked a traditional processional at CiTi’s main campus in Mexico. The graduates included: Angelica Moot, Jason Harris, Lincoln Marion, Shelby Rennie and Jonathon Anderson. After a presentation of diplomas, both the honorees and ceremony attendees were invited to a graduation celebration where everyone enjoyed cake and took photographs.

The 2019 Junior Award-winners were recognized and honored as part of an annual ceremony. The prestigious award is given for each subject area.

The awards were as follows: Jasmine Neddo (Art), Reyna Velez (Business), Gabrielle Moran (English), Allyson Isereau (Foreign Language), Gabriel Peters (Math), Claire Ames (Instrumental Music), Kylee Galarneau (Vocal Music), Alex Wurster (Physical Education - Male), Kaylie Isereau (Physical Education - Female), Emilie Fallows (Science), Morgan Foland (Social Studies) and Dimitri Queior (Technology).

Class valedictorian Julianne Boughton of West Monroe, NY, will attend the university of Vermont for biomedical engineering. Her parents are Russell and Janet Boughton. She thanks her parents for being the most inspiring people in her life and leading by example.

Boughton enjoyed her friendships with teachers and classmates most in high school. She hopes that her classmates will remember her as being kind and loyal. Her advice to the graduating class: “Lead a life that you are proud of, and define yourself, because no one else could do it better.”

Class salutatorian Cole Wilson of Brewerton, NY, will attend the University of Rochester. His parents are Stephen and Kristin Wilson. He thanks his history teacher Mr. Frear for inspiring him the most through his passionate work.

Wilson enjoyed spending time with his friends most in high school. He hopes his classmates will remember him as a good friend who can really rip on the piano. His advice to the graduating class: “Do not obsess over wealth, fame, power, pleasure, human glory or security, but rather seek true happiness by willing the good of others.”

In addition to the numerous students who have maintained an exemplary GPA while completing a course of study that meets NYS Regents standards, an impressive 25 graduates have also earned an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors this year. Students earning this distinction have completed additional Advanced Regents credit requirements and have successfully passed all Regents exams. The “with Honors” designation is added to Regents Diploma recipients with an average score of 90 or more on all required Regents exams.
