Little Falls High School Proudly Presents
Class of 2020Class of 2020CommencementCommencement
A Graduation Message
Much of the pageantry of commencement comes from the
traditional and significant use of caps, gowns, hoods, and
colors, which had their origins in 12th century France and
Italy. It was there that the custom of wearing a cap and gown
to mark the admission of the graduate to a group of master
teachers is thought to have first begun. The custom had a
practical side, for the caps and gowns were the outer garments
worn by the masters to keep out the chill and damp of
medieval buildings. Caps and gowns have been used in
this country since colonial times.
Commencement exercises are a formal ceremony and we ask
that you conduct yourselves accordingly. Graduation is a time
for friends and family to gather, but we ask that you hold your
conversations until the program is concluded. We will keep the
school open as long as necessary if you want to catch up with
friends and relatives after the ceremony. We would ask that
cell phones and pagers be turned off so as not to disturb those
participating in the program and the rest of the audience.
Thank you for your cooperation in making this a
commencement that will be memorable for everyone.

Andrew Congdon P.O.N.G. Scholarship - $300.00"P.O.N.G. ~ Pursuit of Neverending Greatness" There are so many things that I could tell you about Andrew Congdon. Knowing him personally truly made your life better. He had this natural zest for living that's so rare. It didn't matter what life threw at him, he never gave up. He worked hard until he couldn't, and then he lived harder. He was never scared to have fun or make jokes. In fact, his greatest talent was probably his ability to make anyone and everyone smile. We would love for Andrew's school scholarship to go to someone who has not necessarily been given an easy life, someone who's had to face some speed bumps along the way, regardless of what they may be. This person should be someone who has refused to give up or let life's challenges define who they are. A smile should never be hard to find on their face. To the person receiving this scholarship, I just want to say, your spirit is so needed in a world like ours. Continue to push through and remember your positive energy might be exactly what someone else needs to see. I hope this contribution helps you on your next life chapter. Stay Andrew Strong!Donor: Family and friends of Andrew Congdon Cearrah Jones-Messina
