Message from the Principal Hasn't it been great to have some sun and warmth return as we leave winter behind

and move into spring!! MUFTI DAY

In a term where 'fun activities' seem to be limited, the Student Representative Council (SRC) had an amazing idea and have asked to have a Mufti Day!! The decision has been made to hold a Pirate theme on Friday, 18 September 2020 to raise awareness for The Kids Cancer Project. It promises to be a grrrrrrrrrrrreat day! FUNDRAISING

More good news to share, with the installation of six new outdoor bench seating for our students. These were funded thanks to the generous sponsors of the Father’s Day Golf Tournament. Unfortunately, the event has been postponed but our wonderful sponsors committed to the project and the seats have already been a huge hit with the kids.

OPTIONAL PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Our wonderful teachers are making themselves available for optional 10 minute phone calls with parents on Wednesday, 16 September and Thursday, 17 September 2020. As COVID-19 has challenged the way we interact with families, you may like to use this opportunity to talk with your child's teacher and see how they are progressing. Many families will feel that the communication via Seesaw has been terrific (and I agree) and elect not to make a booking. However, if you would like to speak with the classroom teacher, use the Parent Portal app on Sentral to book an interview time.


SCHOOL UNIFORM

Finally, can I ask parents to help support the wearing of the correct school uniform each day. We have already begun to see incorrect hats or sports jumpers on the incorrect day. There are school hats available for purchase in the office and there is also plenty of shaded play areas for children to play under the COLA. Representative jumpers look incredible and we have permitted students to wear these on Fridays only as part of sport. Please ensure your child wears the correct jumper on the other days of the week. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

ONLINE ENROLMENT

We are excited to announce that the new Online Enrolment System is now available on our website.

The Online Enrolment System is designed to provide flexibility for our parents to submit an enrolment application online and at the time that best suits you. The application can be accessed on all browsers and mobile devices including iOS and Android.

The online application process is currently restricted to:

. Enrolments into local schools only;

. Children who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or permanent residents; and

. Children who live in NSW.

We offer our support and encourage you to complete your application to enrol online. If, however, you do not feel comfortable completing an application online, a paper copy will be available for collection from the front office or can be downloaded from the Departments ‘going to a public school’ site.

Technical phone support is available for parents completing an online enrolment through the online enrolment system, together with the current online support form. Parents can call 1300 679 338 between 7:30am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have already submitted your enrolment form to the school you do not need to do the online enrolment.

Are you looking to purchase a new device for your child? Upgrading? Early Christmas shopping? Preparing for Year 3 2021?

Shipping is charged at a flat rate and delivery should be within a few days depending on supply.

Stage 2 (Year 3/4) and Stage 3 (Year 5/6) students are required to bring a device to school each day.

If you need to purchase a new device for your child, we suggest either: Apple Ipad (including protective case and keyboard), Chrome Book or Laptop. All devices listed in the portal meet the school network requirements.

Please note you do not need to purchase a NEW device, this is optional. Students can bring in an older device, if it meets the requirements outlined in the note. The school does have a small number of shared devices, which are shared between 5-6 classes at a time so they are not always available for lessons.
