This was my analysis of a front cover where I had to decide whether it followed conventions or broke them. The magazine I analyzed was a terrorizer magazine. This did not followconventions in terms of the front cover or the contents page.

These are the theories that people have about magazine front covers. These people are famousbecause of their theories and I have used them to help analyze front covers.

These are more theories that different people have on magazine styles. I use Mulvey’s theory to talk about magazines a lot because it is commonly used in magazines, to attract the attention of the opposite sex, also it is very sexist because she only considers 1 genders point of view, so it will only attract one gender. However I don’t think it is applicable anymore because representations have changed, so magazines attract both genders.
