CLASSICAL GUITAR ENSEMBLE TO PERFORM AT UD
News Release
DAYTON, Ohio, January 12, 1983 The University of Dayton Music
Division will present a guest recital by the Classical Guitar Ensemble of the
University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. The recital will
be on Wednesday, January 26, at 8 p.m. in the UD Chapel. The program is
free and open to the public.
The ensemble is directed by Clare Callahan, a graduate of the
University of Dayton and currently a member of the College-Conservatory
faculty. The Classical Guitar Ensemble has won numerous awards, has appeared
widely in concert and on television, and is currently in its tenth season.
The program will include music from the seventeenth to the twentieth
centuries; composers performed will include Michael Praetorius, G. F. Handel,
Francis Poulenc, Luigi Boccherini, Bela Bartok, Manuel de Falla and others.
