1. Line up on right side of the hall on the blue tiles without touching the wall or other students.

2. Enter quietly upon teacher’s directions.  Code 0!!

1. Gather materials if necessary and prepare for departure.

Class Starter Activities• Class will begin with a warm up activity and/or Bell Ringer each day.  

• Complete the activity(ies)within the time allotted.

• Early finishers should:• Finish any previous incomplete assignments.• Work on homework.• Read an AR book.• Make and/or study vocabulary flashcards.• Read ahead in your textbook(s).

Questions About Assignment

1.  Reread directions.2. Think back or look back at previous examples.

3. If unable to begin or complete assignment, seek assistance from three other students within your group before getting the teacher’s attention (C3B4ME).

4. If you are still unable to begin or complete assignment, raise your hand and wait for the teacher to assist you.

Keeping Your Notebook/Folder

• All work should be kept in a notebook/folder.

• File the assignments in the folder when given back by the teacher.

• Make sure your notebook/folder is neat, with no papers hanging or sticking out.

• Check to see if you need extra paper on a regular basis.

Headings on Papers

1.  First name, last name, and number

2.  Subject

3.  Month/Date/Year• All the above will be placed in the top, right-hand corner of your paper.

• Improper heading may cause deduction of up to 5 points.

Turning in Papers

1.  Make sure your heading is on your paper.

2.  If there is more than one page, staple your papers.

3. Place your assignments in the correct file bin.

4.  Do not place any papers on the teacher’s desk.

Missed Assignments

• When you are absent, check the designated file for the weekday you missed.

• Take what you have missed and see the teacher for further instructions.

• It is your responsibility to make up any assignments missed within a reasonable amount of time.  See handbook.

Missing Materials

• You should have your own materials each day.  Check your supplies regularly.

• If an emergency occurs, you may borrow from a student or the Teacher’s Supply.

Documents to be Signed

    When you receive any type of student progress correspondence (progress reports, report cards, graded work, etc.) sent home for parent or guardian view, please return the correspondence back to the school with parent/guardian signature within 2 days.

Visitor(s) in Classroom

• ONLY the designated greeter will stand and open the door.

•  The greeter will welcome the visitor/guest at the teacher’s request.

• Continue working quietly.

Substitute Teacher

• All rules and procedures apply as if the regular teacher is present.

• Follow all instructions and complete all assignments .

Student Response and Participation

The following CODES will be used to help guide appropriate student response and participation with teacher, partner, and team:

CODE “0”----Silence! No talking!CODE “1”----Talk only to the teacher.CODE “2”----Talk to partner or team.

Movement During Class Time• Students must be seated at all times unless directed by teacher as to help promote a safe and productive learning environment. 

• When movement is necessary, keep your hands, feet, and any other objects to yourself and abide by the Class Code being used at that time. 

• Class Helpers whose tasks call for movement are exempt from these rules. 

***If Class Helpers abuse these rules, they will be relieved of their duties.***

Throwing Away Trash

• You may throw away trash before class begins.

• After class starts, all trash should be kept and may be thrown away upon next transitional opportunity or dismissal from class.

• When throwing  away trash, you should not distract or disrupt others.  Code 0.

Group Movement

Group movement will be lead by teacher count 1-2-3-4.

1. Gather all needed materials while remaining seated. Make sure  area is neat and clean.

2.  Stand with materials beside your desk.  If seated at a table, push chair under table, and stand behind your chair.

3.  Move to designated area and stand beside desk or stand behind chair.

4. Sit and begin activity/assignment.

Cafeteria Procedures1. Enter cafeteria in an orderly manner.  2.  Get all utensils and condiments and make any 

purchases while going through the line.  3. Girls sit with girls and boys sit with boys.4.  Begin eating promptly.5. Use good table manners while eating and use 

your “inside voice”.6. Exit cafeteria in an orderly manner.

**Excessive loud talking will result in “Silent Lunch”.**

Playground Rules• Take turns.• Use playground equipment correctly.

• Slide:• Go down the slide one at a time.• Go  down the slide without stopping.• Go down the slide feet first only.

• Swings:• Do not jump out.• Do not sit and twist around.  • Hold on tightly and do not swing too high.

• No roughhousing.• Keep our playground clean.

Hall PassesEach student must have a Hall Pass when not being supervised by the teacher. 

***Class time is very valuable for both the teacher and the student.  Students will have supervised periodic breaks in which to accommodate bathroom and other needs and should be utilized at those times. 

***The Nurse’s office is for illness, injuries and emergencies only. ***
