Lesson Plan - Unit 12 Talking About Routines

Course Outcomes

After completing this course, students wil l be able to:

1. Demonstrate expansive conversational and narrative skills in ASL by using both ideas.

2. Demonstrate the ability to use appropriate ASL grammatical features and functions of the language to tell about the morning & evening routines that included calendar frequency.

3. Demonstrate a considerations of and respect for Deaf culture by engaging an appropriate approaches used in Deaf community and to be able to use their ASL skills within and beyond the school settings.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1 . Demonstrate accurate ASL facial grammar (NMS) and syntax to expand their conversational skills that include the morning & evening routines.

2. Develop conversational skills by using the connector (FINISH) with grammatical structures in ASL.

At the end of this lesson, the students will be able to:

1 . Demonstrate the signs for category of morning & evening routines

2. Expressed the learned signs for morning & evening routines in ASL

3. Demonstrate the signs for frequency of the calendar in ASL

4. Expressed the learned signs that are used with the connector as an important grammatical feature in ASL.

Students will produce a narrative about their family members’ daily routines. Please instruct them to submit their assignment before next class, on Tuesday, April 23rd.

I will use the rubric (see the attachment) to assess their ASL expressive skills with the learned signs and their understanding of connector with the sign of FINISH.
