ÉCLAT BMX PARTS SPECS 2013With arguably the most progressive and diverse team in BMX right now, we have to aim high to fulfill their every demand. For 2013 you will see the result of this close and sturdy partnership in the growing line of signature parts that are both technically ground-break-ing and reflect the style of their respective rider.

Nathan Williams needs little introduction in the world of BMX. His progressive street rid-ing has taken un-familiar new turns this year as he explores new extensions of BMX street riding and breaks every boundary in his way. For 2013 we have been working extensively with Nathan on developing two significant and vital BMX parts. The first is a top load stem, with a unique countersunk cap design giving it a super clean and fresh look. The second is another first in BMX, a plastic peg injected around a heat-treated crmo core. This makes for a peg that’s super tough and slides on anything out there, just add wax.

Ever since we first unveiled our prototype free coaster last year it’s been the talking point of every rider who is fascinated by riding in the wrong direction. We are finally ready to sit back after a lot of hard work and research and announce that the éclat free coaster hub is now here! The BLIND hub is Shane Weston’s second signature part, and he has been extensively testing it for the past year, to get it absolutely dialed in. The result is a true landmark product, with a mechanical design never before seen in BMX. The BLIND hub is a true game changer.

You will also notice two other new hubs for 2013, the Dynamic front and rear. Beneath their creamy smooth casings lies more state-of-the-art design. The rear hub has a 120-point engagement giving unrivaled feel and precision. Move to the front and you’ll notice the flanges are both lower and closer together giving more spoke clearance whilst grinding, so only the roughest of street rider is going to need the hub guard here.

As the technicality in BMX riding continues to develop and progress in different direc-tions, new issues come to light that need addressing. One such problem was damaging the driver and chain when doing switch sided grinds, so we developed the GONG driver guard, keeping all of the drivetrain safe and protected. Now you can grind how you like.

The choice of éclat rims has been unbeatable for the last few years, and now it just got even better. For 2013 we have the POLAR rim, a double wall welded rim available in both Aero and Straight wall versions. We have also finished testing the JAW rim, with its innova-tive design allowing broken spokes to be replaced without the hassle of removing tire and tube. Another pioneering product from Eclat.

Producing a multi tool specifically for BMX is something we’ve wanted to offer for a while now. The E-TOOL, has got you covered for any problems while out riding, and it’s all wrapped up in a neat anodized tube, perfect.

This really is an exceptional year for éclat, with even more new products for 2013, but not enough time or space to mention them all here. So take your time and look through the preview carefully, you won’t want to miss a thing!
