For some years I have let myself go to a recurring geometrical tendency and I ended up feeling somehow trapped in the shapes . I needed to escape more and more from the rigorous geometry of the last years and go to a more spontaneous expression .

I paint essentially according to my own feelings of a particularcolor; I mean that a blue or red or green color comes over me and I must dive into it until I get saturated with it .

The starting point being a color , the rest of a painting escapes from a preconceived idea or line or shape and I aim at letting loose the subconscious .

The last gestures are often violent with the use of knives and thick paint or with splashes on the canvas as if I wished to hurt it and engrave the marks of the instant .

My way of painting could be associated to the French movement called “ Abstraction Lyrique ” or the American “Abstract expressionism”.
