Clean Air Scooter Challenge
KS1 Assembly
Did you know that 20th
June is Clean Air Day?
That would be a
great day to
read our new
book about how
we can help to
keep our air
clean
Have you ever been on a Scooter Safari?
What is a Scooter Safari?
You can see
much more on a
scooter than
from inside a
car!
A safari is
when you
spot wildlife
in its own
habitat.
Why is it fun to scoot to school?
We can hear and
see things that we
wouldn’t in a car!
Why is it good for us scoot, cycle or walk to school?
We get
exercise which
keeps us fit
and healthy
and makes us
ready to learn!
Why is it good to leave cars at home?
Most cars create
smoke that makes
our air dirty and is bad for our health
We need to remind
drivers to switch off
their engines when
waiting in their cars
What else can we do to keep ourselves healthy?
Choose quiet
roads, away from
busy traffic to
breathe cleaner air
Would you like to try the Clean Air Scooter Challenge?
The Clean Air
Scooter Challenge
is running from 24–
28 June, following
on from Clean Air
Day (20 June)
We want as many people as
possible to scoot to school that
week – parents too! - and you
could win some amazing prizes!
CLICK ON ME (BASIL)
and watch our short film to
tell you what’s up for grabs
this year …
Go on a Scooter fact hunt
We’ve put together a toolkit of ideas to
make your challenge week even more fun!
Bling your shoes,
scooters and bikes to raise some money
Have a Clean Air picnic
Hunt for
some Babs boulders
Don’t forget – the more
people that scoot, the
more chance your school has of winning a prize!
There’s even an adult scooter up for grabs!
Good luck everyone and
have fun scooting!
