FROM SILICON VALLEY TO ROMEFollowing successful events around the USA in San Francisco, NYC and Boston, Blake Burris set out to spread the word of Cleanweb around the world with backing from Cleanweb Godfather, Sunil Paul and his foundation. In 2012, more than a dozen hack-athons took place with a year-end event at Roma Tre where the U.S. Ambassador kicked things off and 18 teams competed. To raise the bar for the second edition of the Roma Cleanweb Hackathon, The Cleanweb Initiative has partnered with LUISS EN-LABS and their The Startup Factory at Termini Station. This event is not to be missed.

ROME CLEANWEB HACkATHONTHE EVENT24 – 36 hours encounter of developers and entrepreneurs to create new Cleanweb apps;Teams are formed at the start of the event;Available framework:themes, ideas and challenges;datasets and APIs;Direct involvement of industry partners, experts and institutions;The contest is judged by a qualified jury;Awards for best Cleanweb apps.

HAkATHON ROME 2014The Roma Cleanweb Hackathon will be held the weekend of 17th to 18th January 2014, organized by LUISS ENLABS, The Startup Factory, and hosted in its accelerator in Via Giovanni Giolitti 34. 

Participating teams of developers, designers, and volunteer professionals having a pos-itive impact in the areas of energy, water, waste management, transport and, in general, on the environment. Participants are free to propose any projects relevant to the themes listed and may make use of open data, data provided by the event partners, or bring their own data. At the end of the competition, “live” applications are demonstrated to the jury and the public. The best of these win awards.
