In this case, during the production process an engobe of natural miner-als is applied to the dried green tile before firing. These ground-in clay slurries make permit particularlynatural colourings in the earthcol-oured range. The engobe forms a firm bond with the tile during the firing process and provides it with a nuanced interplay of colours.

Natural redOnly fired clay tiles can be called “natural red”. The appearance of this colour can vary, which produces an animated roof appearance.

Natural EngobesAn engobe made of natural minerals is applied to the dried clay tile before firing. This fine clay slurry allows natural earth-coloured tones. During firing the engobe forms a permanent bond with the clay tile creating a lively nuanced interplay of colours.

Sinter engobesAre refined by the addition of glass particles. The surface is significantly harder and therefore less sen-sitive to mechanical shocks and scratches. Besides, the denser surface has a dirt repellent effect similar to a glaze. Our Sinter engobes are vapour-permea-ble and characteristically semi-glossy.
