The ROSARY …and a Hurricane Harvey story…
On Wednesday, August 30th, Father Norbert Manduzia, Pastor of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Spring, Texas posted the following on a Facebook video for his parishioners: “I’m just speechless. All of the buildings are flooded. I went numb seeing the destruction. The water was over the sanctuary level in the church.” In his video, he picked up the parish processional cross…face down in the water. The corpus then broke off and floated for a few seconds…until it was picked up and placed on a nearby table. Quoting Father: “I’ve prayed about that image and realized that Christ was sharing in the passion of His people. He, too, was now homeless, off the cross, and broken as are many from these floods. On the positive side, nearby churches and even a mosque have offered space to celebrate Mass. If you are so inclined, go to the parish website…there are lots of pictures. Hurricane Harvey has changed countless lives forever.” This story is about just one of the many parishes affected in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Pray for all those impacted.
Remember, you and your family are always invited to take part in our weekly Rosary for Peace, every Saturday at 4:35 p.m., just before Mass.
Are you available on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 p.m.? Eucharistic Adoration has need for an adorer at this time! If you are looking for some quiet and peace in your day, consider spending this hour before our Eucharistic Lord – Blessings await! Call Mary Marron at 740-366-7988 if interested in this hour or any other.
Billy Booth, Mary Cole (mother of Beth Somerlot), and Jack Goode (father of Mary Kay Fausey) recently passed away. Please pray for them and for all the faithful departed.
Your prayers are requested for Kathleen Wayts after her recent surgery. A thought to remember: Cards of well wishes are a great way to cheer our fellow parishioners in stressful times.
