Cleveland-Based LearningAn Introduction
Why Cleveland-Based Learning?
CBL …promotes the exploration of downtown Cleveland through the
view of history,
social issues, majors, and
group participation.
How does it work?
1. Familiarize yourself with a Cleveland landmark using the Cleveland Historical App and the ASC 101 Research Guide.
2. Explore the site with your group. Talk to locals, answer questions, and reflect on your experience.
3. Develop research skills by brainstorming keywords and evaluating a relevant article.
4. Using research skills, find relevant articles to support the research question associated with your group’s landmark.
5. At the end of the semester , present with your group on your experience exploring your site as well as the relevant research articles you discovered. You’ll also submit a reflection.
