This fair is dedicated to Ruchille“Ro” Mead CCAH Executive Director 2004 - 2011
Ro Mead died in the fall of 2015 and not a day goes by that we don’tmiss her. Her warmth, her wit and her ability to laugh at herself weresome of her favorite traits, but she had many others that definedwho she was. Ro was not a bit player on the stage of life but a full-blown star. She inspired us daily. She made us laugh. She pissed usoff at times as well. Ultimately, she left a legacy that continuestoday. That legacy involves art education in our public schools, theR2 Gallery and First Fridays. Ro started out as an artist/vendor atMountain Fair and eventually ended up the queen. Her crown is now retired but not her memory. The love that threads throughCommUNITY is the love we will always have for this simply fabulous woman. We miss you Ro!
This year’s theme is one of the core values ofCarbondale. We may not all agree, but when itcounts we come together and work out ourdifferences. We support each other throughhard times. We care about our environ-ment, our cultures and the land that sur-rounds us. You don’t have to live here tobe part of this unity. It’s a state of mindthat keeps us connected all year long. Wehope you will join us!www.carbondalearts.com

How can we all do thisat Mountain Fair?Simply by using fewersingle-use, disposablecups, plates and uten-sils. You can accom-plish this by beingaware of a few GreenTeam operations:
❁ rEuSE by bringingyour own water bottles, plates, cups and uten-
sils to the fair; washthem and take themhome. It's like camping!
❁ Buy a souvenir stain-less steel cup at thefair and reuse it for allyour drinking needs. They are great for hot orcold drinks, soups etc.
❁ the Cantina usesred, recyclable cups forour mixed drinks that
we then wash and reuse.
Composting and recy-cling are the next bestpersonal steps at thefair. Please be part ofthis solution, not theproblem, by assistingthe volunteer-poweredGreen Team with proper
