GROUP ACTIVITES ONSITE AT THE RESORT

Hunter Valley Wine Theatre The experience starts with an inspection of the HUNTER VALLEY RESORTs 45 year old Shiraz. Up on the big screen learn a little of the Hunters wine heritage, Australias oldest wine area. See the grapes being harvested, and being crushed at the on site winery and take a lesson in winemaking. The Cellar Master then takes delegates through a wine tutorial, covering aspects such as structure, colour, and what to look for. A true sensory overload.

HANDS ON Cooking Class Join our Executive Chef Phil Collis. (Min 8 people) This is a hands-on class and all dishes are cooked from scratch using local produce. Recipes are provided and the dishes you prepare, you will enjoy as a three course lunch or dinner. You will then get to sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Candymaking classes

Working with our Executive Chef, you will watch how to make peanut brittle, marshmallows and boozy rocky road chocolateYoull gain a lot of information in a relatively short period of time, and take home some delicious candy. Fun and games, with take home recipes. What better way to spend an afternoon?

Hunter Valley Wine School Immerse yourself in the wonderful world of wine during a two hour Master Class. From pruning to picking and bottling. Learn how to taste wines like a seasoned sommelier. The Hunter Valley Wine School commences daily at 9.00am and is an informal tutorial of wine education. Walk through the onsite vineyard of 45 year old Shiraz vines and discuss matters viticultural. From there, the experience then moves into the Wine Tasting stage. The informal wine tutorial and tasting follows: What is the history wine? What is the difference between grape varieties? What is the Australian Wine Judging System?

Matilda Bay Brewhouse

This is where the amazing Bluetongue Brewery story began. Now known as the Matilda Bay Brewhouse, only a glass wall separates you from the original brewhouse.

Winemakers often say It takes a lot of beer to make a quality wine So what better way to finish a hard day of wine tasting in the Hunter Valley Wine Country than with a cleansing beer

This means we have twelve (12) amazing craft brews for you to smell, look at, analyse, and taste. All research and development for your palate!

Accommodation Facilities: From $130 per night- A FULL HOT COUNTRY BREAKFAST INCLUDED Where are we located? We are an easy 2 hour drive north of Sydney. Just follow the M1 north, take the new Hunter Expressway exit and then the Hermitage Road exit. HUNTER VALLEY RESORT is nestled among its own 45 year old vineyards incorporating an all day Matilda Bay Brewhouse, quality 4 star accommodation, wine tasting cellars, horse riding, wine school, wine theatre, cooking schools and an onsite winery. Included in all our rates is a comprehensive tour of the vineyard. The tour takes guests through the entire wine making process, from grapevine to the final product! This is followed by a private structured wine tasting with our Cellarmaster where the wines are presented and tasted. All rooms feature timber cathedral ceilings, full size bathtub & shower, Flatscreen TV/DVD, ISD/IDD Telephone, Hairdryer, Individual whisper-quiet reverse cycle split air-conditioner, Tea and Coffee making facilities, and refrigerator, Iron and Ironing board, Writing desk and Clock Radio. They are on one level, and all have wonderful views of the Australian countryside. The hotel features 35 rooms and cottages.
