Biomes Definition
Defined as a large region with similar climate(Mcdougallittle pg494)
6 major Land Biomes
(Mcdougallittle pg494)
There are water biomes, such as ocean and
freshwater(Mcdougallittle pg499)

Biomes Facts The six major land biomes are
temperate forest, tropical forestdesert, grassland, taiga, and tundra(Mcdougallittle pg494-496)
Fun Facts:
Rainforest covers 7% of earthssurface (weigal 305)
Oceans covers about 75% of earthssurface. (Mcdougallittle 499)
Fresh water covers a little less than1% of all water on earth (weigal 213)

Air Mass Definitions
1. A vast pool of air having similar
temperature (Ritter, Michael 1)
2. Air mass Is a large volume of airthat have characteristics of
temperature and water vapor content(The worlds Biomes 1)

Air Masses Facts
Polar air masses are 40 degrees to 60degrees latitude. (air mass 1)
Arctic are 60 degrees to 90 degreeslatitude (air mass 1)
Warm Tropical are around 15 degrees
to 35 degrees latitude. (air mass 1) Air masses are named by arctic, polar,
tropical, or equatorial. When named, scientists can put to of these together tocreate a name.(air mass 1)
They are generally classified by wet, cool or dry. (air mass 2)
Air masses are born in a source regionwhere they take on their characteristic;moist temperature. (air mass 1)
Classified by cool, wet, warm or dry.(air mass 2)

long term distribution
of heat andprecipitation on the
earths surface (globalclimate 1)

Global Climate Facts
-Earths Climate zones are classified at according to temperature, rainfall, accumulation, and location.
-There are different characteristics such as rainfall, temperature,
wind, ocean pattern, the determine local short term weather
creating climate zones. (global climate 2)
-From 1957 to 1975 the carbon dixide rose from 312 to 326 part per
million. (global climate 2)
-During the same time, methane in the air increased 145% andnitrous oxide rose 15% due to global climate.(global climate 2)
