About Cloud Computing

TRANSCRIPT

CLOUD COMPUTING

is a general term used to describe a new class of network based computing that takes place over the Internet, ◦ basically a step on from Utility Computing◦ a collection/group of integrated and networked

hardware, software and Internet infrastructure (called a platform).

◦ Using the Internet for communication and transport provides hardware, software and networking services to clients

The storing of data and applications on remote servers, and accessing them via the Internet rather then saving or installing them on your personal or office computer

Cloud Computing

The term cloud is used because the data and application are stored on a cloud or collection of web servers and computers owned by a third party somewhere else

“Cloud”

The cloud can be accessed by the internet, cloud computing system interface software or unique interface software

This is simple as using web base service which shows all the applications and files you would need in a job or for personal use.

Inexpensive Efficient Flexible

Alternative to purchasing, running and maintaining in how computing equipment

and software

Cloud computing is:

The cloud gives you the ability to work anywhere anytime.

Ex. Online email account (gmail, yahoomail and many more)

Private cloud- Functions only for one organization on a

private network and is highly secure Public cloud

- owned by cloud service provider-owned the highest level of efficiency in

shared resources Hybrid cloud

- combination of private and public cloud deployment models

-specific resources are run or used in a public cloud and others are run in the private cloud

-this provides increase efficiency

Deployment models of cloud computing

Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) – organizations get infrastructure components such as computing power and storage capacity

Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) – Provides organizations with the platform or a runtime environment to create and deploy applications

- the organization is only responsible for the development, maintenance

Service Models of cloud computing

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) – provides organizations with ready to use application

- they use a combinations of cloud base compute and storage services

Represents the computer that the client see This side requires to access the cloud

computing system Gaining access can be simple by internet

browser or more complex a unique interface server which will access the cloud

Front End

Comprise of data storage system, computers and servers.

This is where your files and information will be stored

There is a central server that administers the system monitoring traffic inclined demand to insure everything runs smoothly.

The central server follows rules called Protocols.

The server also uses software called middleware which lets the networked computers communicate with each other.

Back End

Reduce IT cost Increases

processing power

Allows you to access your files anywhere

Uses a moderately priced device
