The definitions of cloud computing :

Cloud computing has three definitions :A. Scientific definition.

B. General definition.

C. Sample definition.

The scientific definition : Cloud Computing is a new style of computing in which dynamically scalable and

often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the internet .

The general definition : Cloud computing is a set of multiple sources of software and hardware available

via the internet and managed from a third party which call “Provider” and this provider has data centers, the customer could use this data.

Page 4: Cloud computing technology

Sample definition :

Rather than use your computer to communicate across the network and stored by the software and files . Are stored all these resources on Cloud (i.e., data centers) and the computer becomes a tool for communicating with these cloud , And this the case with the various computers in Company .. Rather than develop applications that work on devices of the staff. Are installing these applications in the cloud, and is working on it Routinely.

Examples of Cloud Computing :

E-mail services : Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail .

Cloud storage services : Google Drive, Dropbox and SkyDrive .

Cloud music services : Google Music, Amazon Cloud Player and iTunes / iCloud .

Cloud applications : Google Docs and Photoshop Express

Operating Systems Cloud : Google Chrome OS.

Which companies are using Cloud Computing ?

Page 7: Cloud computing technology

The goal of Cloud Computing :

The goal of cloud computing is to allow users to take benefit from all of these technologies, without the need for deep knowledge about or expertise with each one of them.

The cloud aims to cut costs, and help the users focus on their core business instead of being impeded by IT obstacles.

The layers of Cloud Computing :

Page 9: Cloud computing technology

The types of Cloud Computing : There are three types if cloud computing :I. Public Cloud.

II. Private Cloud.

III. Hybrid Cloud.

Public Cloud :

In the public cloud (or external cloud) computing resources are dynamically provisioned over the internet via web applications or web services and the application from different customers are likely to be mixed together on the cloud’s servers, storage systems and networks.

Page 10: Cloud computing technology

Private Cloud :Private cloud (or internal cloud) refers to cloud computing on private network . Private clouds are built for the exclusive use of one client , providing full control over data , security and quality of service. Private clouds can be built and managed by a company’s own IT organization or by a cloud provider.

Hybrid cloud:The hybrid cloud environment combines multiple public and private cloud models. Hybrid cloud introduce the complexity of determining how to distribute applications across both a public and private cloud.

The advantages of Cloud Computing :

Lower computer costs: We do not need a high-powered and high-priced

computer to run cloud computing's web-based applications.

Improved performance . Reduced software costs . Unlimited storage capacity:

Cloud computing offers virtually limitless storage.

Page 12: Cloud computing technology

The disadvantages of Cloud Computing :

Requires a constant Internet connection: Cloud computing is impossible if you cannot connect to the

Internet.

Does not work well with low-speed connections. Features might be limited . Can be slow:

Even with a fast connection, web-based applications can sometimes be slower than accessing a similar software program on your desktop PC.

Page 13: Cloud computing technology

Why was the Cloud Computing become a big deal ?

Using high-scale/low-cost providers.

Any time/place access via web browser.

Rapid scalability; incremental cost and load sharing.

Can forget need to focus on local IT.

Page 14: Cloud computing technology

Opportunities and Challenges :

The use of the cloud provides a number of opportunities: It enables services to be used without any

understanding of their infrastructure. Cloud computing works using economies of scale:

It potentially lowers the outlay expense for start up companies, as they would no longer need to buy their own software or servers.

Cost would be by on-demand pricing.

Vendors and Service providers claim costs by establishing an ongoing revenue stream.

Data and services are stored remotely but accessible from “anywhere”.

What is the future of Cloud Computing ?

Cloud computing has been called the way of the future. It opens doors by making applications and technology more accessible than in previous years. Companies that would normally require enormous amounts of startup capital may only need a fraction of what was previously required to succeed.

Currently, if the company can afford it, then they can have access to the full Microsoft Suite, ERP applications, CRM applications, accounting software, and a host of other applications that will improve productivity within a company.

The past of cloud computing is bright, but the future of cloud computing is even brighter.
