2. The term refers to a Network or Internet. In otherwords, we can say that Cloud is something, which ispresent at remote location. Cloud can provide servicesover network, i.e., on public networks or on privatenetworks, i.e., WAN, LAN or VPN. Applications suchas e-mail, web conferencing, customer relationshipmanagement (CRM),all run in cloud.2 3. Cloud Computing refers tothe applications online. It offers onlinedata storage, infrastructure and application. 4. Diagrammatic representation of Cloud based Computing!!!!4 5. DEPLOYMENT MODELS SERVICE MODELS Deployment modelsdefine the type of accessto the cloud, i.e., howthe cloud is located?Cloud can have any ofthe four types of access:Public, Private, Hybrid Service Models are thereference models onwhich the CloudComputing is based.5 6. 6 7. The Public Cloud allows systems and servicesto be easily accessible to the general public.Public cloud may be less secure because of itsopenness, e.g., e-mail.7 8. 8 9. The Private Cloud allows systems and servicesto be accessible within an organization. It offersincreased security because of its private nature.9 10. 10 11. The Hybrid Cloud is mixture of public andprivate cloud. However, the critical activitiesare performed using private cloud while thenon-critical activities are performed usingpublic cloud.11 12. 12 13. 1. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)2. Platform as a Service (PaaS)3. Software as a Service (SaaS)13 14. IaaS provides access to fundamental resourcessuch as physical machines, virtual machines, virtual storage etc.e.g. Windows Azure, Rackspace, GoogleCompute Engine.14 15. PaaS provides the runtime environment forapplications, development & deployment tools,etc.e,.g. Heroku, Force.com, Google App Engine,Apache Stratos.15 16. SaaS model allows to use software applicationsas a service to end users include OS,programming language execution environmente.g. Google Apps, Microsoft Office 365.16 17. 17 18. 18 19. ON DEMAND SELF-SERVICE BROAD NETWORK ACCESS RESOURCE POOLING RAPID ELASTICITY MEASURED SERVICE19 20. 20 21. Hypervisor is a firmware or low-level programthat acts as a Virtual Machine Manager. Itallows to share the single physical instance ofcloud resources between several tenants.21 22. Management Software helps to maintain andconfigure the infrastructure. e,.g flexiant, kaavo22 23. Deployment software helps to deploy andintegrate the application on the cloud.23 24. Network is the key component of cloudinfrastructure. It allows to connect cloudservices over the Internet. It is also possible todeliver network as a utility over the Internet,i.e., the consumer can customize the networkroute and protocol24 25. Server helps to compute the resource sharingand offer other services such as resourceallocation and deallocation, monitoringresources, security, etc.25 26. Cloud uses distributed file system for storagepurpose. If one of the storage resource fails, then it can be extracted from another onewhich makes cloud computing more reliable.26 27. Virtualization is a technique, which allows toshare single physical instance of an applicationor resource among multiple organizations ortenants (customers). It does so by assigning alogical name to a physical resource andproviding a pointer to that physical resourcewhen demanded.27 28. Here are the three types of hardwarevirtualization: 1. Full Virtualization 2. Emulation Virtualization 3. Para virtualization28 29. 29 30. 30 31. 31 32. 32 33. 1. Vmware.com2. The Chartered institute for IT3. Microsoft TechNet Blog4.
