Here is an activity that can be done in any kind of weather and it helps kids enhance their observation skills. For this activity a record needs to be made of the types of clouds you see. On a sunny day, you will often see puffy cumulus clouds. Thin, soft stratus clouds may bring light rain, whereas dark, low-hanging cumulonimbus clouds mean more severe showers.

Everyday, record the date and make note of the time. Stretch the cotton balls into the shapes of clouds that you see in the sky. Glue them to the note-book and label them with the cloud name. You can also record any weather changes in the diary.
