clovelly east village - street change proposal
DESCRIPTION
Our main proposal is to add more greenery on the bare block of Clovelly Road between Arden and Beach Streets. New elements include: trees, low shrubs, a raingarden (to filter stormwater runoff), public seats, bike racks, raised pedestrian crossings, a pedestrian island mid-block (to help slow traffic) and two 15 minute parking spots (for pick-ups e.g. from takeaway shops.) This is intended as a doable start. The longer term goal is improve the whole area - including the other side of Clovelly Rd and the other side of Arden St. They key goal is to make the whole centre more like a village - with a greener, safer, more livable street.
