What a day! Magic weather, magic crowd and all in all it was an excellent day for the 22 pilots that took the clear blue skies

above Whitehills.

We saw 8 Standard Pilots, 11 in Top Notch and 3 in the Mul& –rotor (MR) Challenge with 4 entries in the “Scale” compe&&on..

The Whistle blowing and Bribing were on standard and the guys enjoyed themselves with these ac�vi�es..!

Scale Compe��on

Most of the RC Pilots are hiding some scale or brag item back at home and we are hoping to grow this stream over &me.

Hence not really a scale ac&vity but more a bragging opportunity, whether this a Errie, helli car or boat, it is all good for

this stream.

The Top Notch pilots did pre1y good with serious compe&&on, even those with “Hangovers” did well. The tradi&onal Large

Scale pilots planned to take the day but Rotors Rule (Wessel Vosloo) took both rounds whilst guys like Hairy Dog (Charles

Kerr), Mad Max (Max Buizer) and Chips (David Franckeiss) had to play in dust the behind Wessel. The results were very

&ght and it seems like the ac&ve bribing assisted those in desperate need of points, all part of the CA fun scene!

Maniac (Gerald) lost his caller and took a few wrong turns by replacing some half rolls with full rolls etc and that le; him in

the dark to say the least. We think Gerald should seriously reconsider his friendships or callers! But all in good spirit the TN

pilots showed the way.

Mul�-Rotor Challenge

This was the first &me CA a1empted this stream and saw only 3 entries. They guys ended tes&ng the concept and we saw

Willem, Gary and Neville having a fun day. During all the playing, an ‘official” drag race saw a nervous pilots going wild. We

thank them for doing this and sharing the experience so we can fine tune this for the &me to come.

To Rescue the Teddy….not that easy! Even if you stand high!

Speed Test

This stream is about knowing your cra; or hobby. Very few pilots ever get the opportunity to measure the actual speed of

their cra; and it is done over 200 m. Very o;en we see pilots trying to do just “voet in die hoek” but it actually requires skill

as any change in height or direc&on brings the speed down. 4 legs are flown, 2 from each direc&on. The Speed test is part

of the official Helicopter speed flying calendar and as it is part of the CA events calendar you can just follow the CA events

to stay on top on things. Here are the results. There are no prizes and no entry fees, purely informa&ve and fun!

Standard Class

Eight Pilots entered Standard Class and the guys from Barnstormers was ‘angry’ taking 1st and 2nd place. Sam (and Bre1)

was very naughty but apologized and we hope to never see this again. For his effort, Sam (Mahomed Shaheed) scored 0

the 2nd round and received the “longest flight” prize in Standard Class. Len, new to CA, did well and we also saw good

efforts from Bowie and Mr Futaba. It is great so see the Std class improving and congratulate all the Std class pilots for

par&cipa&ng in CA. From the results it is clear that CA is channeling the skill set into construc&ve flying, away from “s&ck

acroba&cs” and we hope we will con&nue to see these guys growing! This is what CA is all about!
