As a club, at the moment, we have a very small youth
membership. I have recently applied for, and received £4000 from
Sport England to train 6 members through UKCC level 1 and 2. As a
level 2 coach, they would be able to run sessions on the River Severn,
in moderate conditions. That process of developing the coaches
starts May 2013, and will be completed March 2014. So for next year
we will have 6 new level 2 coaches that we can throw at your pupils!
At the moment we have one level 3 coach, me, and one level 2
coach. So we do struggle to provide coaches for youth member this
year.
For this year, we would never say no to youth members, but we are
not actively recruiting. Next year, we will be actively recruiting, and I
will be pestering you, so I can put on a taster session.

Shifnal cricket club is an ECB Focus Club and is Clubmark accredited
Firmly established in the Birmingham Cricket League, Shifnal runs
four senior teams during weekends, offering cricket to players who
are looking for high level club cricket to players looking to join a club
from a social point of view
The club also has a womens section and runs a vibrant junior section
for 7 (Year 3) to 16 year olds. Young players are given opportunities
to compete and improve their skills with junior matches and training
during the summer.

At Worfield Cricket Club you will find a Shropshire Club steeped in
tradition, but also one that is very much moving with the times.
2013 heralds a significant milestone for the Club with the opening of
our brand new Pavilion.
On arrival you will find one of Shropshire's most picturesque settings
with every conceivable cricketing facility available for all club
members.
We have four league sides, three playing in The Shropshire County
Cricket League, the 1st Xl are in the Premier League, with the 2nd Xl
playing in Reserve Division One and our 3rd Xl in Division Five. For
2013 our Senior Womens XI make their debut in the Womens
Midlands League.
We also have a Sunday side playing friendlies during August and
September.
Worfield is an ECB Focus Club and obtained Clubmark status in 2004.
We have a thriving Boys & Girls Junior Section where 110, 8-18 year
olds are coached on a Monday, Thursday and Friday evenings. We run
under 10's, 11's, 12's, 13's,and 15's league teams, and there are plenty
of opportunities for the older children to play league cricket.
We have an open and equitable policy and encourage people to join us
and discover excellent bar facilities and a very strong social
membership.

Junior Cricket Starts on Friday 19th April 6.30pm.
You can register on the evening. The clubhouse will be open so parents
can wind down at the end of a busy week and get to know each other.
At junior level the Cricket Club caters for both boys and Girls in
school years 5 through to 11.
The club runs 3 teams in the local leagues (under 11’s,under 13’ and
under 15’s). In addition we are looking to run a dedicated girls team to
play friendly fixtures, subject to sufficient numbers.
The club is keen for young cricketers to play in senior games that
take place on Saturday's.
Junior membership is £35 for the year (cheques made payable to
Newport Cricket Club). Junior training sessions will be held on Friday
evenings from 6.30pm to 7.45pm , with the first session on the 19th
April and running through until Friday 19 July.
