ABOUT THE TEAM

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The University of Maryland Club Swim Team was founded by a group of individuals who wanted to share their passion for swimming!

We have a diverse team of 100+ swimmers from all over the country, ranging from California to Florida.

People join the team for many reasons, to keep up their competitive spirit, to relax after a life-time of swimming, or even just to have fun. But everyone has one thing in common: UMD Club Swim became their college family.

- As a team, we raised over $600 for the Special Olympics of Maryland.

- We hosted the largest meet in UMD Club Swim history with over 18 visiting teams and 450 swim-mers.

- In Spring 2014, Campus Recreation Services awarded us the Terrapin Community Award for our dediciation to serving the community through activities such as Relay for Life, KEEN Swimming, and Polar Bear Plunge!

- Membership is at an all time high, with over 140 registered swimmers.

- During the 2014-2015 season, we have broken 3 team records in the Women’s 100 Free, 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay.

- With our reignited competitive spirit and broken team records, we are looking to send swimmers to the ECC Nationals in George Tech for the first time in 4 years!

While team growth is exciting and important, it also places strain on our limited resources. It is sometimes difficult for us to reach our financial needs: meet entries, transportation, lodging, team suit purchases.
