Clutch Chatter
Volume 31 Issue 10 October 2012ChatterThe President’s Page by Pete Pandolfi
Hello, everyone. We had another great Edgar Rohr Memorial Car Meetthis year. Bill Sessler did an outstanding job and we could not haveasked for better weather. Every show has its hiccups along the way andthis year was no exception. We worked our way through them and Ireceived several compliments from the participants about how nice ashow we have and their desire to return next year. I am sure at theOctober meeting Nicki will have a preliminary report on the actualnumbers the show generated.
Speaking of next year, we will need a new Chairperson for the show.Bill has run the show three times with the last two in consecutive years.I think he would like a break and be able to actually show one of his carsnext year. He did tell me that the new Chairperson need not worry.Things went very smoothly with the City and he, and I am sure severalof the other key players, will be there to help the new Chairperson. Bythe way, next year’s show will be September 21, 2013.
With this issue of the Clutch Chatter, you should be receiving theelection ballot for next year’s club officers. Please look it over andconsider who you would like running the club next year. This year Iserved as the Nominating Committee since no one else stepped forward. We have two open offices even though we have enough candidates tofill all the offices. The two open offices are the President and theSecretary. I am still trying to fill those two vacancies, but I cannot delaysending out the ballot. Per the by-laws we have our election at theNovember meeting, November 11 this year, so this is the onlyopportunity to get the ballot out and leave time for people to mail it in ifthey are not going to attend the meeting. I did leave a space for a write-in candidate for each office.
In the October meeting, we will need to discuss the annual installation ofofficers, awards and holiday event. For the past several years we haveheld this at the January meeting in the VFW hall. Please come withideas for this January’s meeting and I will need someone to coordinatethe event. The October meeting is the day after Hershey, so it will benice to hear for all of you who went to Hershey. We also have a coupleof events coming up, namely the Lake Ridge Christmas Parade onNovember 10 and the Manassas Christmas Parade on December 1.More on these at the meeting, but we have plenty of room for people toparticipate.
