    INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

    INSTALLATION PROCEDURES FOR INSPECTION PORTS

Below is a 5 step visual presentation of these procedures.

    1. Locate and mark the insulation jacket where the inspection port is required. Use tin snips to penetrate the

insulation andcut through the jacketing. Be careful to not hit the underlying piping while puncturing the

insulation jacket. The hole should be slightly smaller than the inspection port to allow for a snug fit.

NOTE: The use of a drill with a hole saw is strictly prohibited.

    2. Remove the final layer of insulation in the safest and most convenient manner (using your hand or knife)

to expose the substrate for electronic and visual inspection.Use your putty knife to remove the insulation

plug. ope out the insulation right under the jacketing slightly so the locking ridge on the inspection port

can grab the underside of the jacketing! then clean the hole of loose debris.

". #nsert the sealing flange! making sure it snaps firmly in place. $n non%corrugated jacketing! the jacketing

will fit between the large outer flange portion and the first locking ring. orrugated jacketing fits between

the two locking ridges on the flange. &nsure that ade'uate caulking is applied to the inner flange prior to

    inserting the plug.

(. )ully insert the cap into the flange. *ote+ #f using the aluminum lock down ring! place the lock down ring

over the flange and then insert the cap over the lock down ring into the flange and screw down the

    aluminum lock down ring.

    5. lean up work area by discarding all insulation material in appropriate container. ,weep the remainder ofinsulation debris and discard.

*ote+ -loves must be worn during the installation of the inspection ports. here hot work is not allowed! you

may use tin snips to cut the hole in the jacketing. #n this case! you may use caulk between the jacketing and

the inspection port flange to fill any gaps and ensure a water tight seal! then use screws to attach our

    aluminum lock down ring.
