CMP Modern Military & M1 Garand Clinic February 12, 2017 What: Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Modern Service Rifle and Garand Clinic and match. Learn about service rifle types and XTC (Across the Course) target shooting. Participants will shoot a 35 round match (5 sighters plus 30 shots) after the classroom portion of the clinic. (100 yards with targets provided) When: Registration and check-in starts at 7:30, class will start at 8:00 and event will be completed by 12:30. Space is limited, so advanced registration is recommended. Send email to [email protected]. Where: Angeles Shooting Ranges Complex on the Fort Angeles Private Range (just across from Moore-N-Moore Sporting Clays). Cost: $20 Adults, $5 Juniors (under age 21). Add $25 if shooting a club rifle (includes ammunition). Ammunition is available for purchase, $25 for 35 rounds of 30-’06 or $16 for 5.56/.223. Participants may use their own rifle (M1, M1A, California-legal AR15 with scope or iron sights). Rifles are expected to be safe and functional with a 100 yard zero. Shooters should bring 35 rounds of range-safe ammo and a cotton web sling. There are a limited number of club rifles for use. If using a club rifle, the participant has to purchase the club-provided ammunition - $16 for AR-15 and $25 for M1 Garand. Angeles Ranges safety rules will apply. Eye and ear protection will be required during the live fire match. No steel or steel core ammunition is permitted (bullets can NOT attract a magnet).
