Wide Range of Milling with the Y-axis FunctionWith the Y-axis function, sophisticated machining such as side milling and offset grooving (previously only possible on a machining center) becomes possible with single chucking, allowing cutting that requires highly accurate positioning. In addition, the rigid tap function※ enables accurate thread cutting. This machine requires a floor space of only 5.9m2,
the least in the 6-inch class. By introducing a compound cell with integrated processes, costs for additional facilities, works in process, process control, manpower and more can be largely reduced.
The high-speed servo turret incorporated with power tool units shortens idle time, and an AC3.7kW-drive motor is used for power tools, achieving high-power machining. Up to 12 power tools (on both turrets) can be installed. These tools increase machining capacity and are especially useful for extended unmanned operation.
※Rigid tap function・・・・・・・・ A function that performs accurate tapping through 2-axis linear control of spindle rotation and feed to prevent tapping pitch error that results from decreased speed at the hole bottom.

By positioning two turrets vertically, simultaneous cutting of the same workpiece with two turrets can be performed in a short cycle time with high accuracy.
The maximum speed of the movable A axis of the secondary spindle and the indexing speed of the C-axis (Cs) are improved to 30m/min and 60min-1 respectively, to speed up each control axis and reduce idle time.
Incorporating the Y-axis function in the dual spindle dual turret lathe allows for performance equal to that of two machines. With the addition of power tools like end mills, drills, and taps, revolutionary multi-axis control 3-D machining is realized. (Y-axis function is available with the primary turret.)
