Lancashire Screening and Immunisation Programmes
• The commissioning responsibilities for screening and immunisation programmes sits with NHS England.
• As part of the funding transfer, money to commission the school nursing services went to Local Authority.
• This included the finance for school based immunisation programmes.
• NHS England and the 3 local authorities agreed a position whereby the delivery of safe and effective school based immunisation programmes was assured.

Co Commissioning• Refers to a joint approach to all stages of the
commissioning cycle
• From initial needs assessment and service design to allocation of resources for service delivery and evaluation of the use of resources.
• Requires organisations, patients and the public to work together.
• Prioritises services that need to be provided, for which people, using which public resources.
• Isn't a new concept – e.g. young people on boards, expert patient representatives.

• Jointly develop and agree the Children's JSNA
• Jointly agree a children's commissioning plan
• Work together to connect the Healthy Child Programme (0 – 19 pathway)
• Seek opportunities to include pertinent KPIs into the respective service specifications (0 – 5 and 5 – 19).
• Agree KPIs and monitoring processes.
• Hold joint contract monitoring meetings.
• Agree process for service user feedback to inform the next round of the commissioning cycle.
