RESIDENTIAL TRIPS 2019-20
The Co-Curricular offer at Putney High School is as unique as each of our pupils. We offer 200 clubs per week and 150 trips per year, across the Super-Curriculum, Art, Drama, Music and Sport.
Intellectual agility is at the heart of our activities, ranging from the Physics trip to NASA to Bridge Club and Debating Society. Character – resilience, tenacity, social consciousness and independence – is developed in abundance through participation in sports, including London-leading rowing training, drama productions and musicals, and our award- winning music ensembles and barbershop groups.
Activities Week in the Summer term is a chance for all pupils to experience cross- curricular enrichment and trips. The schedule is shaped by pupil voice and features the Sixth Form comedy workshops, language trips to Murcia and Montpellier, the Year 8 trip to PGL and Young Enterprise workshops for Year 10, this year run by Santander.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is offered at Bronze and Gold level, and the volunteering elements of this mean that pupils collectively give over 12,000 hours to charitable causes, increasing our outreach and engagement with the local community. On top of this, House Charities and volunteering initiatives – such as the drama link with local State Primary Schools – generate further engagement with our wider community.
