junior girls including Charlee Barb, Emily Bowman, Katie Dever-

Mitchell, Sara Moreno, Kierra Myers, Taylor Perkins, Ciara Rad-
cliff, Lindsay Smith, Jessica Stroupe, Courtney Swenskie, and

style. Each girl had three dresses they flaunted. The dresses were
borrowed from Oliverio’s Bridal, located in East Pointe. Escorting
the girls were juniors: Brock Herrod, Dakota Jarrett, Jonathan
Whitehair, and Jeffery Wright. Most junior homerooms made a
trash bag dress and a girl in their homeroom wore it in the show.
The trash bag dress models included: Mrs. Cole’s homeroom, Tori
Coleman, Mr. Tate’s, Caterina Struass, Mr. Ware’s, Haleigh Heff-
inger. The winner of the trash bag dress competition was Mr.
Ware’s homeroom. Their prize was a pizza party. The admission
to the show was $2. Any student had the choice of going during
second and third block to watch. The fashion show raised just
over $400 for the junior class.

True Colors
By: Makenna Hefner
What does your favorite color say about you? Whether it's a
poppy red, or a peaceful purple our color preference says a lot
about us and our personality. The common colors in the rainbow
are most people's favorite, and they reveal a lot about you, but
what exactly do they reveal? This could help us get to know the
real you!
A popular favorite color is red, it stands for the color of
strength. Often chosen by someone outgoing or aggressive. The
most popular color across the board between both sexes is blue.
Blue is a very emotional color, soft and soothing, and very com-
passionate. A women's most popular color is purple, it means
your unique and a witty, sensitive individual. If you like the color
green then it means your hopeful, it's liked by a gentle, and a very
sincere person. Yellow is known as the color of happiness, wis-
dom, and imagination. It's usually chosen by adventurous individ-
uals. Orange is such a vibrant color, for such a vibrant person. It's
appeals to fun loving, flamboyant people who are very social. The
last but not least common color is pink. People who like pink love
affection and are very gentle natured.

Working in the Construction Zone
By: Krysta Knapp
Mr. Lechner and his construction systems class have started a project that
is different than any other before. They are actually building a closet for a
room in the school! The lucky Mrs. Ash will have bragging rights because
the class’s “big” project is for her room! There is a relatively small group
with a few boys and a couple girls who are helping build it, and whom she
calls “Lechner & Sons & Daughters.” I spoke with freshman Will Vanhorn
about his part in making the closet. “It’s a nice break from regular class-
room work, and it’s good that we get practice with real life projects, but
honestly I would rather be working on something mechanical.” He went on
tell about the set of stairs they’re getting ready to build for the play. The
closet is coming along great and is going to be painted with chalk board
paint! As most know hard work never goes unpaid so as a token of appreci-
ation Mrs. Ash and the girls in the class made them cookies and lemonade
to enjoy when they were done working for the day.

The “Sons” know that good planning and preparation is key to completing a successful project. Jonathon Whitehair, Austin Pringle, and Will Vanhorn are ready to check measure-ments once more before they raise the studs for the closet project in Mrs. Ash’s classroom.
Each day the crew from Construction Systems comes down to the site located in Room 112 to continue
the work on the closet project. Mrs. Ash names a supervisor of the crew for the day: Supervisor
“Kaboom” Summers observes from inside the closet.
